Writing Feedback / IELTS Essay -250words - Technology Progression has a negative impact on us? [3]

IELTS Essay ï 250 words - 40min

Technology progression has a negative impact on us. To what extent to you agree or disagree with this statement?

Technology has progressed considerably along the past decades in the fields of telecommunications, buildings, information technologies as well as household items.
This progress has changed the way we face our daily situations and leisure time.

In the 80' we already had TV broadcasts, landlines as well as other gadgets as result of many decades of researches and hard work of scientists. Nonetheless, they were always looking for something else, which led the world to discover new technologies. In the 90' the popularity of computers and mobile phones triggered a huge revolution in the telecommunication industry by enhancing the way we communicate from that period on. In addition, household gadgets and computers were getting better and better, bringing up tools to facilitate our activities.

Despite, benefits the technology progress provides us, there are some disadvantages related with some of them. For instance, as technology develops, more industries and supplements are required to feed it. In consequence of that, the dioxide of carbon emissions has increased dramatically, causing the global warming as well as changing the environment worldwide.

In addition, the evolution of the communication system is creating a lack of interpersonal skills in our children, as many of them spend too much time operating a computer to talk to their friends and to meet new friends, instead of having this relation in person.

From my perspective, the technology progression has brought many benefits to our society. Yet, regardless some disadvantages on which we have to learn how to cope. I disagree with the statement.

Writing Feedback / ESSAY 250 WORDS - IELTS - Politicians and Scientists [9]

Thanks. I agree with your point.

maybe would be better like this...

...
In addition, a good sample of politicians influence over the world is clearly demonstrated in the Cold War, whereas USA and ex-Soviet Union influenced the world to follow their economic model.

However, plenty of politicians and scientists have been attempting to make us thinking green. In other words, to induce us to think about the environment, carbon dioxide emissions, deforestation, among others. Nonetheless, they haven't been 100% successful to change everybody's mind.

From my perspective, politicians and scientists really have a good influence worldwide. Although, I brought up some negative points they are always influencing the world to move forward.

Writing Feedback / ESSAY 250 WORDS - IELTS - Politicians and Scientists [9]

Some people think that politicians and scientists have the greatest influence on the world, others disagree. Discuss both views and state your own opinion.

My essay ...

Scientists and politicians have played an important role in the world lately as their researches and decisions have effects worldwide. We all have been coping with innumerous problems, natural disasters or even conflicts for many reasons. The way our politicians are dealing and the resources and technologies to support these decisions might change the course of the history.

Having said that, politicians have a wide influence over their countries and the world through many means of communication and in some crucial points of recent situations they had their decisions based on scientist researches.

For instance, a recent epidemic of swine flu which was sparkled in México followed by a quick and huge spreading worldwide was tagged as the biggest flu ever by scientists and the only way to stop that would be buying vaccine developed by a well-known company. Despite some remaining cases, the epidemic was defeated and the most of countries had realised they overspent their revenue based on influence of scientists and politicians who endorsed them.

In addition, a good sample of politicians influence over the world is clearly demonstrated in the Cold War, whereas USA and ex-Soviet Union influenced the world to follow their economic model.

From my perspective, politicians and scientists really have a good influence worldwide. Although, I brought up some negative points they are always influencing the world to move forward.

Letters / Cover letter for engineering research assistant post [7]

It is great ! You seem to be an outstanding engineer.

However, it is too long. You should summarise your cover letter highlighting the skills required for this position.

If there are 100 more applicants with the same background, the recruiter will firstly take a look at the most attractive one.

Writing Feedback / IELTS Essay - Technology vs Traditional Cultures [6]

It is inevitable that as technology develops so traditional cultures must be lost. Technology and tradition are incompatible - you cannot have both together.

To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
---------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------
MY ESSAY >>
As technology develops, people give up their traditional way to accomplish some tasks for an easier and many times more effective way. Even in simple activities of the day we see new technological inventions all around. From the crack of dawn, when we wake up with our digital alarm and electronic agenda, reminding us our daily appointments, to the moment when the night falls by setting up our TV to get switched off just after we sleep.

In fact, technology has played a very important role in our lives by providing us a leverage to tackle the problems and uncomfortable situations that might appear, giving a boost in our business, life and relationships. In the past 20 years, I have seen some of those fabulous inventions helping people worldwide.

The mobile phone, for instance, has speeded up the communication throughout the world, allowing business to go across the borders, helping families to reach their relatives wherever they are.

On the other hand, some people say that this high volume of gadgets full filling the day of our children might create a barrier against some important values of our society, such as, interpersonal relationships, the ability and willing to deal with people and problems in person and a couple of more problems caused by this lack of traditional relationships.

From my point of view, technology has been very important in our lives and will move our planet upwards as long as we know how to use it on a good purpose.
