I want to attend Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences to become a pharmacist for a few reasons, but I'm ultimately going there for my future. Through the years, I always loved chemistry, because I found it really interesting and challenging. My favorite part of the course was applying my knowledge during a real experience at the lab; I developed a passion to discover how different interactions between chemicals are used for different purposes. I know that I will have the opportunity in MCPHS to study in a rigorous program while exercising my passion.

Since middle school I really liked to assist people with disabilities during my community service hours. I feel helping someone is very meaningful and seeing the progress of a patient with my help just warm my heart. I am also very intrigued by pharmacological sciences and how our body reacts from different chemical reactions as it could be both deadly and life saving. I am confident that I would be on the right track to pursue my personal goals at MCPHS with the best study environment in the world; Boston.

Undergraduate / 'the Beijing Academy of Dance, Mrs. Cao' A person who has had a significant influence [2]

It is extremely hard for me to decide who has made the biggest impact on my life between my mom and dad without been unjust because I have two of the greatest ones. They both equally played a pivotal role during my life. My parents made many sacrifices to give me the best life possible. Instead of breaking my head to figure out which one to choose, I'll like to use this opportunity to pay tribute to my favorite dance teacher that has passed away recently.

A first class graduate from the Beijing Academy of Dance, Mrs. Cao Yi has been my instructor for two years. I am the dancer that I am today mostly because of her. As I look back on my life, she was the only woman as being important to me other than my mother. Mrs. Cao had the hardest job on campus; she had to teach the beginner level of Chinese classical dance. Teaching newcomers required a lot of patience, because she had to face students with all kind of problems every year. Nevertheless, she would always take her time to repeat requirements continuously without being frustrated. Her teaching style was unorthodox, but effective; she tried new things to make class more interesting and fun. In her lectures, she added some more intriguing movements into the boring basics that we practice everyday. She also mixed the piano accompaniment with more modern music to motivate us. Along with everything else, Mrs. Cao was a pleasant person because she always took the time to communicate with me. For a time, I thought of quitting because I was not improving as well as everyone else. Somehow, she noticed my situation soon after and held a meeting with me. Mrs. Cao encouraged me to look on the bride side and told me that she had a learning path very similar to mine. She also taught me to be more confident in myself while dancing. Since very young, I was very shy with strangers and would never try anything that might embarrass me because I couldn't accept criticism. She taught me to be more open and confident as a dancer. Mrs. Cao told me when a person's self-esteem is at his peak; one is able to reach his goal a lot easier, because one believes in himself. If I am unsure in what I am performing, it will show in my dancing and completely turn off the audience to what I am doing. This statement made by my dance teacher has helped me tremendously in becoming more optimistic towards life as a whole. I no longer felt uncomfortable to practice in front of people instead, I became more independent and risk-taking. I also acknowledged that I would never have had a truly fulfilling relationship with someone until I can be comfortable with who I am. Mrs. Cao might have passed away but I will always remember her guidance, as I am a better person now.
