Undergraduate / 'I love how inspiring you are' - My love letter to Reed. [3]

What type of essay are you writing for? Expository?
I will let someone else correct any spelling errors.
I would remove the constant use of "I" and replace it with something else.
Such as:
"I love how inspiring you are. I love how I know my passions for art and writing will take on wings and soar with the help of Reed's encouraging community and atmosphere."

becomes
Love how inspiring you are. My passions for art and writing will..."

Dissertations / 'simulating the effects of blast waves on human bodies' - how to start my thesis? [4]

This is a subject area way over my head.
Do you know if your local university has access to Jstor, scholar.google.com or journalseek.net? There are more sites, I would be happy to give you more. Please try those first.

Let me also ask, in general are you good/great with essays? You should be able to structure your essay with the information from those journals.

Undergraduate / 'Judgment: without evidence it is prejudice.' - Judgement - speed essay practice [3]

Wait a minute. You had two essays to write. Where is the other one? Or are you allowed to take a pro and con stand and write 2 essays on the same issue?

If I personally wrote something, I would choose a side and argue it. Having a knowledge of recent events definitely helps, and even better when you have actually read into the news headlines (reading the entire news article).

I hope that was helpful. Keeping up on major events makes these types of essays (which schools in the U.S. are using more) much much easier.

Essays / Design of newly constructed buildings - need ideas about a topic [4]

hoanghai549, you can take a pro (for it) or con (against it) stand on this topic.
Decide which side you personally feel for. Or whichever ones seems the easiest to write.
Then you come up with reasons (or proof, such as news stories, Jstor articles, etc.) to back up your main statement.
Find three good reasons for (pro) or against (con) in the next 3 paragraphs.
Then you end your paper summarizing the same 3 reasons again.

Writing Feedback / 'the development of the disease tuberculosis in England' my graph description [2]

You seem to understand how to describe the graph.
You might historically talk about events/reasons leading up to milestones (peaks or valleys) on the graph.
Such as "between 1984 and 1987" there was a news story about a rise in childhood T.B., and perhaps that contributed to the increase we see

or
"after 1988 the figure of the people with tuberculosis boomed until 400.000 in 1989" which was due to a rise in immigration. There was a news story of 5 immigrants that died at so-and-so hospital in City, Germany along with a boarding house that was closed by authorities due to conditions of disease/overcrowding. Two of the people from the house were found to have T.B.

Essays / I picked 'Roman art in the first century'. Getting ideas on how to write this essay? [2]

Hi, I'm new to college essays and need some help.
Teacher gave us a list of topics. I picked 'Roman art in the first century'
Now I went and found about 8 sources (some books, a Jstor discussion of art, and an Internet museum site)
So I have a good amount of sources.

What I'm not good at is the MLA method of citation.
Would anyone give me a sample essay on something, anything to allow me to use as a template?
I could do this 5 page thing, but with MLA I'm just not understanding exactly how to proceed.

Thanks!
