Scientific exploration clearly excites you (otherwise you wouldn't be applying to Caltech). What is it about Caltech's opportunities and resources that will best fuel your intellectual curiosity and develop your passion for science, technology, math or engineering?

I was born a warrior, born to fight and to compete for time` and aristeia. Competition is my religion, the world my battlefield, and its experts my holy saints. But like every religion, competition isn't free of corruption.

In life, I have fought several uphill battles, but with each battle, the desire to compete on a fair and leveled ground only strengthened. It is for this reason that I wish to study at Caltech, since I believe Caltech's honor code system would continually level the battlefield for me and enable me to pursue my interest in Science and Technology in the most passionate manner.

A competition leads to a divergence of identity and a unification of soul. A competition of teams, on the other hand, tends to bring the team members close to each others like a soul to its body, and enhances cooperation. Caltech's integrated housing system would have the same impact on me, whereby flourishing under an intensively fair and competitive atmosphere, I would strive to make friendships that would last a lifetime. Caltech's housing system would be a unique opportunity for me to expand my horizons and to learn the social customs of America.

Above all, Caltech's incredible faculty members (I have attended Professor Sean Carroll's The Teaching Company lectures on 'Dark Matter, Dark Energy: The Dark Side of the universe'), its focus on hand-on research assignments, and its ease of access of research equipments would enable me to institute my position at the frontiers of Science and Technology.

Undergraduate / amherst supplement- rigorous reasoning essay--- need revision [6]

Insight without Reasoning is a child's play; Reasoning without Insight is a mere fantasy. And so do these two virtues in varying proportions come for humanity's rescue.

Being a keen observer, I have relished a close relationship with my Insights. My Insights which have like angel's wings lifted me up from the ordinary and immersed me into the domains of the extraordinary. Using my Insights, I have solved several of my life problems, foresaw the end to sporting events, intuitively solved math's' problems, and deeply understood the human bond. Though, Insights cannot be learned but only experienced, I am dedicated to devote my years after school towards gaining more Insights.

My ability to reason, on the other hand, is essential to my lifestyle. I am often caught up in hypothetical Reasoning, whereby assuming A is true, I try to prove B is true/false. Once in a while, I invent a thought experiment to pit my Insights against my Reasoning, and see who wins the fight. Although, it does not matter who wins it, it is always 'I' who benefit from it as their fights broaden my awareness of the world. Though being well versed in Reasoning, I believe there's a lot more to learn, a big part of which I plan learn during my erudition at Amherst.

Recently, I have indulged myself in an activity that has strengthened my belief about the connectedness of the two virtues. I have been for long interested by the ability of rotating bodies to balance themselves, and having been turned down by literally every source of enlightenment, I decided to take matters in my hand. Using both my Insights and Reasoning, I was well able to explain not only the balancing act of rotating bodies, but also other mysterious properties of rotation.
