Writing Feedback / IETLS; Social media and its impact on my life [3]

During the last few years, there has been a tremendous improvement in the technological advances that revolutionized the practice of work and societal outcomes. To-date there has been a billion active users of well known social network websites for instance facebook. This alone highlights the impact of social media via high speed digital system or physical network on today's generation day to day life, especially the one that I belong. I think the importance of social media is getting more prevalent with each passing day and each social event has long-lasting effects on the behavioural aspects of everyone.

Before I got acquainted with online forums, I was hardly socializing with people and making more friends. My social life cycle was limited to my family members and by-and-large unaware of what was happening on the other side of the world. I was stringent about the thoughtfulness of other cultures and shy of being expressing myself in a group. This all change as soon as I become one of the users of these forums. These forums have provided me and other members a range of options to social with each other. Now it is up to each user to decide what type of community is better suited for him and for his society. This also helps to find like minded people and promotes the creative elements of humanity. For instance, several music composition forums are available that allow us to intermingle different culture and music experiences.

Given that the social media has a deep impact on my life, I am wondering how the social media will propagate its impact to next coming generation. I believe the next generation will be more concerned with their whereabouts and inter-connectivity of world. The platform will nurture their interaction comprehensively while significantly reduces the loneliness and isolation that to some extend still present in the current generation.

Writing Feedback / TOEFL IBT: Why people want to move to big cities to settle down? [4]

During the last few years, rural to urban migration has been immense and it has attracted much social concern. Several sociologists have been trying to study the pattern of this change. In the sequel I discuss some of the main reasons for this migration.

First, rural-urban migration increases with the increase of job opportunities in the cities. When the economy of the city grows it promotes more jobs and attracts lot of people. On the other hand, in rural areas people have few options for work that limited the scope of improving the quality of their life. So in this situation, big cities provide a range of advantages over the rural areas. They can work as waiter in a restaurant or hotel, work as engineer in a company, invest money in stock market and banks, start a business, open a grocery shop and sell books. They can make money by thousands of ways in cities.

Second, in rural areas the number of schools and colleges are less compared to urban schools and colleges. Most of the rural towns have no university for advance studies. Hundreds of families may want to educate their children in urban institutes even if this adds a burden to their budget; they are willing to sacrifice for the sake of their children's career.

Third, in most of the rural areas there is no hospital for taking care of sick people with the exception of some dispensaries available at nearby town. In comparison, the urban city contains many specialized hospitals to cure different types of diseases from flu to life-threatening diseases like cancer.

Fourth, most of the rural areas do not have any law courts to punish the culprits. In case of any crime, either elders or dedicate persons of the town judge and decide the fate of the victim. Whereas, in cities they have courts with judges and police for controlling the law and order situation.

Last but not least, big cites provide range of transportation services for its people.

In brief, economy growth, job opportunities, law and health related facilities promotes rural-urban migration.

Writing Feedback / Everyone has the right to education irrespective of gender difference [2]

Everyone has the right to education and it is one of the main concerns of a family raising the children. Many families cannot afford the cost of private schools. Government funded schools are available for all the members of the society regardless of their financial status. It is up to each family to decide which kind of education is important for their children. The question about whether or not the number of boys is more more than that of girls in schools is a controversial one. There is no universal standard of truth with regards to the ratio of boys to girls since it varied differentially at different places, localities and cultures. Overall, I believe that the ratio of boys to girls significantly off killer in some countries due to some reasons.

First, in many under-developed countries, not all of the Government funded schools are offering free of cost education. Every student is obliged to contribute a minimal fee so that the extra expenses of partially supported schools can be beared. Most of the families cannot afford the cost of all children's education at the same time. So in this situation, boys are regarded as important since they can look after the property and parents when they will get old, inherit land, and lead the family name or honor, whereas, the girls are regarded as burden to the family since they will have to marry and will responsible for taking care of her husband's family.

Second, typically in some rural areas, girls are so busy in attending the school. They have been busying fetching the water from the nearby town or from different water resources and they have no time attending the school, as the instantaneous need of water for the family always of high priority. In some families, they alone have been responsible for looking after the daily routine work of the home.

Third, in some countries there has been a surge of gender disparities among newborns and this also contributes to different percentage of boys to girls in schools.

The obvious solution to these problems is that Government should launch campaign promoting girls education and provide financial benefits to families with girls. The rural schools must be provided with water tanks and rain water collection system so that girls can learn and take water for the family in a same place. More importantly, every educated member of the community, should highlight the importance of an educated mother in the building of family structure.
