Post-school qualifications in Australia according to gender 1999
The bar chart gives the information about Australia's different post-school qualifications and the proportion of male and female who held them in 1999. It can be found that the proportion has a big difference according to different genders and qualifications.
There are 5 sectors in the chart stand for the 5 different qualifications. The first one is skilled vocational diploma, the proportions of men and women who got it experience the largest gap, only 10% women got this diploma, while the proportion of men is approximately 90%. Also, more men got postgraduate diploma or master's degree than women. For postgraduate diploma, the proportion of men is 70% that is more than two times than that of women and there are 60% men got a Master's degree whereas the figure for women is 40%.
In respect of undergraduate diploma and Bachelor's degree, the result is just in the opposite, the population of women who had an undergraduate diploma was twice as much as men's. In addition, the proportion gap of bachelor's degree is less than 10%.
To sum up, the numbers of men and women who got a same qualification cannot be balanced.
