I have made some changes in my motivation letter . i need correction if there is mistakes in motivation . waiting valuable comments.thank you very much
In this essay I outline my academic and extra-curricular accomplishments. Also discussed are my career objectives and the motivation to pursue the Master Program in Geosciences at University of Oslo.
The undergraduate curriculum in Earth Sciences at Quaid-i-azam University Islamabad, introduced me to a wide gamut of subjects, both in and outside the field. Various courses like Exploration Geophysics I, II &III, Structural Geology, Tectonics & Geodynamics, Mineralogy, Petrology & Geochemistry, Stratigraphy & Paleontology, Hydrogeology I, II and Geophysical Data Processing have provided me with a strong footing in the theoretical & practical concepts of Earth Science, especially in the field of Hydrocarbon Exploration & Production.
Throughout my degree, I have engaged myself in activities that aim to better understand the theories and practical applications of 'Seismic Method for Geophysical Exploration & Production' for the detection of hydrocarbons in sedimentary rocks supplemented with a sound knowledge of Geology & Geophysics and I want to continue to do so at a professional level. Master Studies at University of Oslo will enable me to develop the skills, needed to understand the properties and characteristics of sedimentary rocks with the help of Seismic and Well Data that I can subsequently apply in the oil industry. I am attracted by the vast research facilities at University of Oslo that can be a major resource in eve loping sophisticated problem solving skills. Extensive collaboration of Department of Geosciences with other research institutes, public and private companies, and excellent international academic network is of particular interest to me
My final semester dissertation was on the Geological Interpretation of 2-Dimensional Seismic Data of central Indus Basin of Pakistan. It included the marking of seismic reflectors, generating the maps of different mechanical properties of the reservoir and determination of its mechanical characteristics with the help of Well Log Data. As a natural outcome of my interest in Petroleum Geosciences, adequate emphasis was given to detection of potential zones of interest and Reservoir Modeling and the incorporation of all these in the final conclusion of my research.
At Quaid-i-azam University, Islamabad, I have received the best possible undergraduate education in earth science in Pakistan. It is the No.1 University of Pakistan in ranking. Throughout, my scholastic records and achievements have been outstanding. I have consistently ranked in the top 5 of the students of my class.
The years of undergraduate education have been an enriching experience both academically and otherwise, and I am determined to maintain the high levels of excellence throughout my career.
Three years job experience has given me exposure to various disciplines used by oil industry in its integrated exploration approach, modern geophysical knowledge and recent developments in the field of Geophysics. In addition to Geophysics, I also have acquired good understanding of Petroleum Systems, Structural Geology and Petroleum Geology.
Throughout my school and university education, I have been a keen participant in extra-curricular activities. Getting elected as the class representative continuously for five years during school and college life helped me polish my organizational and interpersonal skills.
My immediate degree objective is an M.Sc in Petroleum Geosciences, a rapidly evolving field with an immense potential for research. I wish to follow it up with a PhD, to pursue a career in research and experience the excitement and satisfaction of being at the forefront of this vast expanding field.
An extremely distinguished faculty, a milieu replete with academic activity, and a Master Program which blends high quality course work and research facilities at the cutting edge of every sub-field are the factors which have motivated me to choose the University of Oslo, Norway for master studies. I believe the program offered will help me acquire the versatility needed to reach my full potential as a Petroleum Geoscientist. It would, therefore, be a privilege to be able to secure admission to pursue master studies, at the University of Oslo, Norway. I am confident that I will match the high standards set by oslo university.
Yours Sincerely,
