Petroleum Institute Admission Cover Letter

Hi all,

I am applying for the Petroleum Institute to pursue my Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering, as a requirement I have to write a cover letter. I would be pleased if someone could review my letter and comment on it.

The letter is as follows...

Dear Sir,

It would be my pleasure to pursue my Graduate Education in your esteemed institution. I have read the PI Master's Degree Boucher and am very interested in Mechanical Engineering studies and the research topics offered in it.

I am currently doing my B.A.S in Mechanical Engineering and expected to graduate in June, 2014. As noticed in my transcript I have taken many courses to assist me in pursuing a higher degree. I also have a total of 9 years work experience in GASCO - Habshan Plant which comprises 4 years as Mechanical Technician and 5 as Mechanical Supervisor. My work experience has helped me visualize the theories as I have connected them with the reality and hopefully I would do the same as I study for the Master's Degree.

I am interested in some areas of research such as Thermodynamics, Geothermal Energy and Solar Energy. It would be a pleasure to join in one of your researches in these areas as it would benefit my country, me and my company in the future as the world is currently pursuing clean and sustainable energy sources.

I would be submitting a new IELTS Certificate by the end of August, 2014
