A common misbelief in America is that living on the beach is only for rich people. And with today's current economy, saying otherwise is considered ignorant and crazy. However, this essay has motivated the refusal to give up on the dream of living on the beachside and enjoying the waves. Living on the beach seems like an impossible dream unless you are fortunate enough to have passed down generational wealth. To the surprise of most, there are a lot of budget-friendly cities in the US that are thriving with activities, waiting to be discovered. This is why you should leave everything and move to the beach.

Moving can feel like a drastic decision, especially for someone who has lived in the States their whole life. A lot of locals don't know much other than their hometown. Although places like the Philippines, Bahamas, and other tropical islands look beautiful online, moving there is too much of a change, especially without testing the waters. But, lucky for you, there are a lot of affordable beachside spots on the west and the east here in the United States. Author of "These Are the 10 Most Affordable Beach Towns in the US." Joane Acar recommends staying in these hotels and resorts to get the feel of the cities. The Dewberry Charleston, in Charleston, South Carolina; the DeSoto Beach Hotel, in Wilmington Island, Georgia; the DoubleTree by Hilton Ocean City Oceanfront, in Ocean Pines, Maryland; the Hampton Inn & Suites Bremerton, in Bremerton, Washington; the Carter House Inn, in Eureka, California; the Magnolia House Inn, in Hampton, Virginia; the Brunswick hotel, in Brunswick, Maine; the Golden Nugget Biloxi, in Ocean Springs, Mississippi; the SCP Hilo hotel, in Hilo, Hawaii; and the Marina Inn at Grande Dunes, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. (Acar 2023) Whether it be on the east or west coast, there are an abundance of hotels, resorts, Airbnb, and other rentals that can help you get the feel of living in the beachside city nearest to you. If you want to save time visiting each beach on the East or West Coast and you want to know what a professional conclusion of the best sandy and affordable beach with stunning views. Sean Cudahy, a reporter who has specialized in travel, airlines, and transportation for over 10 years, has more than enough qualifications under his belt. including Best Business Reporting, Ohio, Society of Professional Journalists, 2020, and Finalist for Best Overall Reporter, Ohio, Society of Professional Journalists, 2019. And of course, Cudahy has a BA in journalism and political science from American University. "New Study: This Is the No. 1 Most Affordable Beach Town in the U.S." gets straight to the point by listing the number one best beach city to live in that is affordable in the U.S. Cedar Key, Florida, is the best beachside city to live in, according to Cudahy's research. The Cudahy outcome is determined by the best ocean view and affordability for a seven-night stay. "You can expect to pay an average of $189 per night for a vacation rental home or $191 per night for a hotel. For the whole week, average costs ring in around $1,330." (Cudahy 2023). 191 doesn't sound free, but if you compare it to the average cost of other hotels in other states not on the beach, it's a lot more appealing. Moving to Florida might sound crazy, but pitching the idea of moving to Florida was never the case. Simply an inspiration for the price of one of the many possibilities here in the States. This helps give you an idea of what you can find when visiting other states, but what about actually buying a house?

Now you're probably thinking you can find other affordable and nicer beach spots to stay in a 7-night stay all over the world that are more beautiful and well known. Yet you haven't moved there, so that must mean you prioritized living in the States with the dream of being a homeowner and buying a beachside house doesn't sound as cheap as staying a couple of nights. Wrong! A lot of people imagine living on the beachside as being out of their reach due to economic circumstances; however, living on the beachside is a lot more affordable than people think. If you have the opportunity to qualify for a house elsewhere and pay a cheaper mortgage, this is the list for you. Kieth Griffith writes, "Surf's Up, Prices Down: America's 10 Most Affordable Beach Towns for Homebuyers in 2024." In this article, Griffith includes cities on both the east and west coasts, with prices ranging from $164,900 in Pascagoula, Mississippi, to $425,000 in Ocean Shores, Washington. Kieth Griffith, a journalist for Realtor, has experience with the housing market as well as real estate trends. Griffith states, "Then, we ranked them by median list prices in March for single-family homes, including condominiums but excluding mobile homes. Only cities with at least 25 active listings for the month were included to ensure adequate inventory." (Griffith 2024) Griffiths's article is a trusted source that has done the investigation of finding a variety of cheap homes on the beachside. Now, these aren't dirt cheap or near-free, but if you take into consideration that they're on the beachside and cost nearly as much or slightly less than your average boring city home, then they're a little more impressive. in the article "The 15 Most Affordable Beach Towns in America" Allie Lebos discovers that the national average of the median value of a home in the United States is $215,900. This can be considered a joke for some California residents who have a state median of $800,000. (Lebos 2022) There are a lot of places on the beach that can surprise those who have purchased overvalued homes in the US. By moving to a cheaper state or city, you would not only be paying either the same or a little less in mortgage, but you would also save on activities and boredom.

This brings us to our last but not least reason why you should move to a beachside city near your hometown. It's the beach! new activities and destinations to discover to embrace change and find new opportunities. Sitting around waiting for the weekend to go out and do something instead of coming home and enjoying the captivating view, swimming in the salty sea, or discovering new places you have never visited. Always be tan because you can lay like a deserted beach whale on the sand and sleep until your back turns strawberry red. Therese Masotta writes in 10 Most Affordable Beach Towns in the US, "From surfing and paddleboarding to museums and shopping, these towns offer something for adventurers, families, retirees, and anyone else looking to live in a sandy paradise. Your beach house dream is closer than you think." (Masotta 2024) A lot of people live and die in their hometowns, never migrating to new terrain. Surfing, beach volleyball, or walks around the beach are not only going to be good for your bank account but also your health.

This essay's main goal is to give hope to those who think living on the beach is impossible. In addition to this, this essay is motivated to be a masterpiece of information and inspiration to work hard because living on the beach is not as far away as some might think. Many options will be available; however, it's up to the reader to decide which location interests them the most. This is important because there are many locations and hidden gems people aren't aware of. After this essay, the question will motivate individuals to take the risk and enjoy life on the beach. Whether it be tomorrow or years down the line, the thought in the back of your mind that living at the beach is reachable will be motivation to one day live at your dream destination.

I seem to read a contradiction in this presentation. You are discussing living by the beach right? Living by the beach and vacationing by the beach are two different scenarios. The writer's you have cited are all speaking of long term vacations, not living beach side. Living beach side means that there is a permanence to the situation. The person would own a house that sits on a beachfront property and live there year round. There lies the difference between your information sources and what you have framed as living by the beach in this essay. The scenarios are not the same. You cannot use vacation rates at hotels in the same manner as say, a mortgage on a beachfront house. The computations are simply not going to apply to the differing scenarios.
