scientific paper reference list

Hi everybody,

The problem i encounter concerns the organization of reference lists at the end of papers.
As everybody knows, different journals and conferences require scientific papers to be presented in a specific order. Unfortunately, i could not find any help for organizing some of my references like conference proceedings, online references and second references. They usually ask for IEEE format, for example, in my field. But most reference formats are not accessible, at least for me. I want to ask u what should i do in such situations or how can i find the right format?

Try Googling "IEEE reference format" or something like that. I'm sure you can find information online. You could also ask experts in your field (I'm assuming that you are working with researchers, etc)

Yep, I googled ieee citations and fount this ieee.org/documents/ieeecitationref.pdf

I am unfamiliar with that style, but you can probably get guidelines from your school or whatever institution is requiring this.

For conference proceedings or any other source you are not sure how to cite, sometimes it is okay to take your best guess and see if anybody cares to challenge it. You'll find that with some of this citations stuff, some of the nuances are up for debate or so misunderstood that it is hard to know what is right!

Anyway, find several articles in your field written in this style, and use them as examples. You must be able to find some articles that use this, right?

As far as online samples are concerned, they are not available for all journals.
