Purpose : Application for a Fellowship program at India's Leading corporate house
Objective of Fellowship program : Fellows Program is a new initiative where we are trying to identify bright young minds within the Group , and give them a platform to shine. It is a special one year program that is application based. If you are selected, you will be part of a small elite group of around ten Fellows from across Group; a confluence of young free thinkers, who feel strongly about issues in society and business. These will be the most unconventional and radical employees; people who want to change the Group and the world, and are willing to speak up for what they believe in. The Fellows will be empowered through special training opportunities during the Fellowship year, and given access to a wide range of resources to express their ideas for change. In future, they will wear their Fellows title with pride, and always be identified with it.

Proposed Answer : My Draft - Personal Statement/Essay : This is my first attempt : Pl comment and help me improve it
An engineer by profession, a believer of "change is the only constant" and living upto the meaning of my name "Sandeep", the source of light and optimism is the crust of my personality. Born and brought up in an affluent Sindhi family, which were once called the "Lords of Land" i.e. Zamindars, owned a Golden Temple in Batwa Village near Junagarh, hosting gatherings of few hundreds was the part of our family tradition.
Being successful in many walks of life and making unconventional choices have helped me in creating a niche for myself. Taking up plastic technology in the times when everyone was drifting towards computers and IT was a start in building a castle from the bricks which others threw on me. Believing my mental agility and energy has given me a voracious appetite for knowledge for which I travelled to more than 30 countries which have made me a global citizen culturally and unprejudiced by nature. Having several appearances in the South African news paper and Kenyan radio and television have given me make a global presence and take an exposure on different working styles.
(how do we capture that my international travel started at a young age - I was @ 25 years when I first travelled to Kenya & also capture - in true entrepreunial style acquired new business from the "Dark continent" of Africa - world's most challenging markets frought with risks, danger & threat to life?)
A strong believer of the "supreme power" and practicing meditation and swimming actively has helped strengthen intelligence and mental dexterity. For me the surface of the water is the most heavenly place where I can meditate and see my inner self. Having the traits of a typical Gemini I take up new activities enthusiastically : chess, cricket, table tennis, billiards and volleyball are in daily regime. Handling stress is synonymous to listening flute music.
I have always believed that I am the one who can make or break my own destiny, going to Australia, working for a decade was the decision based on intellect which was strongly analytical and futuristic. Joining Godrej was an opportunity, wearing the badge stating "Godrej" gives an immediate connect and blessings from the Godrej founders & harness the cosmic powers of the universe. It symbolizes "Go out there", relive our entrepreneur spirit - Trust, Ethics & Client care - every single moment
Lastly stating about my family, my wife Kiran and my daughter Deeya, both are resemblance of light of MY LIFE.
