I will greatly appreciate any feedback on my career plan essay for Chevening Scholarship. Thanks in advance.
The UK government through the DFID is to support reforms to make it easier to do business in Ghana, achieving economic stability and improving the business environment and management of the economy. After completing my masters in the UK, I plan to use my obtained knowledge to help my country to be on top of the list of many developed nations as far as international business is concerned. Obtaining a masters degree in the UK in addition to the already degree I have, it increases my chance to secure a job in the government sector, public sector or any NGO.
With my strong networking skills, I'm going to secure a job even before returning home. My immediate plan is to work with the Central bank. Addition of International Business Management to Economics, I believe working with the central bank will be an opportunity to exhibit and use my knowledge which I will be gradually building my way to be a top policymaker. I can then be creating reforms with my team to make it easier to do business in Ghana as the UK government is doing. Again, with the knowledge acquired from my studies and working with the Central bank, I will help my country to achieve economic stability and improving the business environment just as the UK government is doing in Ghana.
Being a top policymaker at the central bank, it will give me opportunity to make great policies and present them to the government for implementation. I will make policies that will stimulate private investments which will create jobs in Ghana as well as increase opportunities for British and other developed countries investment as Ghana is endowed with numerous viable investment opportunities. Also, these policies will help Ghana's industrialization and economic development which are both critical to strengthening Ghana's economic resilience and unlocking its ambition of moving beyond aid as the UK government is doing.
In the long run, I see myself performing at higher level. Holding an executive role such as the governor of the central bank of Ghana which is a goal I aspire to achieve. Having the knowledge and experience in International business in different discipline, I believe I can bring international investors forward through my vital decisions with strategic consideration of bigger overview.
Since the UK and Ghana government have signed the strategic partnership agreement on economic development and mutual prosperity, it will be an opportunity to help my long term career goals. That is, helping Ghana to be a Launchpad for continental free-trade and gateway to do business with the rest of the world.
