(Study plans to improve Korean/English language ability required for taking a degree course before and after you come to Korea).
For my Korean language study plan, I have been studying Korean since 2018, and I completed online courses for basic levels 1 and 2. After arriving in the country, the first three months will be dedicated to reviewing the basics of the Korean language, including Hangul, pronunciation, basic grammar, and vocabulary. I plan to spend at least two hours each day studying and attend Korean language classes. I will also practice my speaking and listening skills by conversing with native Korean speakers.
From months four to six, I will continue to build on my basic language skills by expanding my vocabulary and focusing on more complex grammar and sentence structures. To improve my reading and listening skills, I will read Korean texts and watch Korean shows/movies. To measure my progress, I plan to take a language proficiency test.
During months seven to nine, I will work on improving my writing and speaking skills. I will focus on idiomatic expressions and advanced grammar structures. To practice my speaking, I will join a conversation club or find a language exchange partner. Additionally, I plan to attend Korean cultural events to learn more about the language and culture.
In months ten to twelve, I will take advanced level Korean language classes to further develop my language skills. I will also work on building specialized vocabulary related to the academic community. To achieve TOPIK 3 proficiency level or higher, I will prepare for and take the Test of Proficiency in Korean. Finally, I will focus on maintaining my language skills by regularly using Korean in daily life, watching Korean shows/movies, and practicing speaking with others.
For my English study plan, I plan to improve my language skills by focusing on technical vocabulary related to my Master's degree. I will also focus on reading and listening to academic texts, such as research papers, articles, and lectures, to enhance my technical vocabulary. In the following months, I will aim to expand my vocabulary in specialized areas related to my field of study, such as scientific terminology and research methodologies. Finally, I will maintain my language skills by regularly reading and watching English-language academic materials and practicing technical writing and presentation skills.
