Korean Language Study Plan
Before coming to south korea : I started learning Korean language 4 month's ago. Initially learn Hangul, it takes me few days to pronounce and write every possible combination of consonants and vowels. To have a better handwriting, I get some Hangul sheets to practice the stroke order of Hangul letters. After having a good grip on them, I started learning basic daily use vocabulary related to food, family, numbers, time and basic conversation . As I get fine amount of vocabulary, I join basic grammar course on cursa app. There were 62 lessons which divided into 3 parts, in the first part we learn verbs, introduction to adverb and descriptive verbs. Second part was how to ask for favours or things like i want to,asking question, asking for permission, like and dislikes. Third part was all about location, topic and subject marking particals along with the past tense, the future tense and the progressive tense. Our teacher suggest me to learn vocabulary and grammar together to understand lessons better and to do that he used to teach us,one grammar rule a day and then we used to create variety of sentences from that one rule which help me to explore more vocabulary. After completing the course i gave the MCQ test related to course ,as a result I achieve Korean Beginner Level 2 certifications which is roughly equivalent to CEFRL level A1.
To improve further, I get "Talk To Me In Korean Book " level 1-9 , here I get insights into various new sentences and how to use the grammar I learned earlier this book help me practise sentences and grammar better. To understand pronunciation correctly I started watching Youtube video of Korean Unni, she talk slowly and clearly so I'm able to understand words correctly. moreover she makes videos on different topics and give vocabulary related to that topic, to understand words i mostly reverse the video and try to listen the pronunciation again then write it down so i can remember or use it later.Currently I am trying to learn korean conversation. So, I won't face any challenges in the new surrounding like subway, cab, airport and convention store.
After coming to south korea: I will devote my most of the time to complete my Korean Language Program, I will complete my lectures and revise my notes on daily basis to avoid any backlogs. Along with this I will try to read beginner level Korean Book to get insights of the language, to improve further I'll take participation in cultural activities I have heard that the university arrange various activities for international students so they can understand the culture better and get comfortable. In these activities I'll get chance to meet native korean people means I'll get chance to understand the language pronunciation more,so many universities have korean buddy program where students gets chance to talk and learn from korean students,I believe these programs, lectures and activities will help me a lot to achieve my language goal.and by following these steps I will achieve my goal to get at least TOPIK 5 or Higher during my language training program.
