One of the big choices I made was choosing my senior high school; A brand-new school that located far away from my city. I chose that school because they had international quality, great teachers, a dormitory, and it always had been my dream to study far away from home. I remembered my target: I need to make a change. I don't want to have standard personalities just like the others. I need to go up one-level more, every time I have the chance. I'd love to experience new challenges. Some says, "Life begins at the end of your comfort zone". For those reasons, in order to fly, I have to be brave to break my cocoon.
In this boarding school, I started my dreams. I joined Biology Olympiad group and ISPO (Indonesian Science Project Olympiad) competition. I made a project studying the potency of Hibiscus rosa-sinensis as a new antifungal for Candida albicans and Trycophyton rubrum. In my fresh year, I learned a lot about how to deal with research, report, presentations and etc. But, the most important is : how to be dicipline and manage time well. It was exam-week, when I had to work on ISPO. I needed to finish my research before the deadline besides, I had to studyhard for my exams. When others were sleeping, I worked until 2 p.m on my laptop. I woke up early to review for exam. My fatigue seemed burned up with my courage.
On the day of competition, I worked hardly than ever. I did my presentation as good as I can. I answer the questions from the juries thoroughly and clearly based on the materials I was studying. I believe God would give the best result for the best-effort I could give.
When the announcement day came, I was announced as the Bronze-Medal winner! I stood there on the stage, holding the first medal of my school. I immediately said thanks to God. He let me be the proof of His mercy. A proof that we can reach our dreams when we bravely make them come true.
For the same reasons, I apply for NTU; the goal I have for fighting for. I would like to give my best effort to be contributed to NTU community.
