education path choice

1st. RMIT University - Master of Social Work (Coursework)
2nd. The Western Australia University - Master of Social Work (Coursework)

Serving humanity is what I am passionate about. I had the heart of serving and helping people. By serving people is what I find satisfaction in life. This was one of my significant values and principle in my life that aspire and motivates me in every day. The passion of helping people has a long rich history and was inherited through my family especially my parents. I was grown and raised up in a caring, loving and very supportive home where my parents have that kind of tender heart in feeling sorry and provide support to people in need in small way within their limit, especially in terms of providing money, food, clothing, accommodation and other basic necessities. Besides from what I am passionate about, I had an undergraduate degree specializing in Family and Community Studies (Social Studies) with relevant work experiences in the field. Furthermore, I had a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching and currently I am tutoring some of the Family and Community Studies Courses (Social Studies) at the University of Goroka here in Papua New Guinea. During official and unofficial hours I tend to dedicate my time, resources, knowledge, skills and values in helping people and students in whatever situations they are facing and if beyond my limit I intend to seek further assistance.

Master of Social Work will enhance my knowledge, skills, values and experiences and provide me with a superior bank of relevant and updated information. This will further prepare and equip me to help in various field that affect humanity. Social issues was the leading and vey common here in Papua New Guinea. Domestic violence, gender inequality, tribal fighting, rise in unemployment, drugs dealings, early marriage & pregnancy, child abuse & exploitation, injustice to the minority groups (LGBTQ+) and family support services are few of the social issues identified. Therefore, the program will eventually put me in the core of these issues and I will help in constructing policies, advocacy, programmes, advices, support services and even teaching students in minimizing and stabilizing it depending on the type of government organisation and Non-Government Organisation I worked with or through my volunteer projects with help from supporting partners like the other Non-Government Organisations, Faith Based Organisations and Community Based Organisations towards serving humanity.

The writer has provided a personal statement that is informative but not fully applicable to the information expectations of the reviewers. These shared insights are only useful when properly integrated into the motivating factors for choosing each course and university. By providing data on how these influenced the course and university choices for each, the response considerations begin to apply to the reviewers needs.

The applicant cannot merely bullet point the universities and course choices then use a general statement in response. The reviewers are looking for applicants who show a clear understanding of what makes each course and university special. How each separately applies to learning intentions. A serious consideration process must be present for each. These elements are not present in the current general statement.
