I'm going to apply a master program in islamic finance in hbku university. kindly help me to enrich my personal statement below. thank you
To whom it may concerns,
My name is Dita Anggraini, a proud Indonesian. I am writing this personal statement to express my interest in the MSc Islamic Finance program at Hamad Bin Khalifa University, for the 2019 Intake.
I hold a Bachelor Degree in Accounting from the University of Indonesia. Although I am not registered as an Islamic Economics student, I spent a lot of my undergraduate life studying Islamic economics and finance and actively contributed to the Islamic economic studies community. It is important to mention that my undergraduate thesis was toon the area of Islamic economics and finance. I was also previously assigned as an assistant lecturer of Islamic economics and finance. Further, I had an opportunity to deliver my idea through the ASEAN International Conference on Islamic Finance.
In particular, I am more inclined to deepen my knowledge on the governance, regulation and the structure of Islamic economics and finance. Learning from my undergraduate thesis about Islamic microfinance institutions and good cooperative governance, the rise of the growth of Islamic microfinance institutions in Indonesia in supporting micro small businesses, of course, must be balanced with the quality of the Islamic microfinance institutions.
After graduated from the University of Indonesia, I began my journey on research in Islamic economics and finance as a research assistant for an Islamic Microfinance research project initiated by the Research Centre of Central Bank of Indonesia. I am now able to grasp complex ideas about the lack of the development in Islamic economics and finance which apparently are the results of failures on seizing such opportunity, as well as the lack of initiatives from related stakeholders.
I aspire to be a researcher which could contribute to the policy formulation on strengthening the Islamic finance industry. Henceforth, I realize that an advanced study in Islamic economics and finance is required. I have considered several worlds leading universities in Islamic finance and have narrowed down my choice to Hamad Bin Khalifa University. I believe that Hamad Bin Khalifa University's MSc Islamic Finance program has all the things I am looking for to improve my research capability, analytical thinking, and networking in the Islamic financial industry.
To close my statement, I would like to give a brief forecast of whom I am going to be in the next five years. I see myself in the next 5 years as someone who has actively contributed to develop the country's economy through Islamic economics and finance through strategic institution such as central bank / financial services authorities or special committee in development of Islamic Economic and Finance such as National Committee of Islamic Finance (a.k.s KNKS) in Indonesia.
I sincerely hope that you would consider my application for the MSc Islamic Finance Program for the 2019 Intake. Should you request further information, please let me know.
