STUDYING IN THE UNITED KINGDOM:
outline why you have selected your chosen three academic courses, and explain how this is related to your previous academic or professional experience and your plans for the future.
Environment and Sustainability have always been my field of focus, through my practice I experienced a management position, which is an area that I wish to enhance. United Kingdom offers an educational experience that I would not be able to have in my country, backed up with active research, teaching quality and integration of teaching and practice. That is why I have decided to study in United Kingdom to achieve my goals.
My higher education and professional development was shaped through my experience in the field. My Bachelor's Degree was in Environmental Science and to further expand my knowledge, I obtained a Master's Degree in Technology and Energy Sustainability, a more specific area. My professional career started with environmental consultancies and my current position is in environmental management. Since I have a lot to learn in Management, I consider that it would be a great opportunity to pursue a master's that focuses on environment, sustainability and management in United Kingdom.
As my first choice, I have chosen MSc Management and Corporate Sustainability at Cranfield. This master's degree fulfills my academic and practical requirements for my professional development. It addresses a "triple-bottom-line" approach, as well as challenging the student to think critically in finance and sustainability within a corporate context that will give me a competitive advantage. This masters can benefit me greatly in terms of achieving an integrated knowledge in management by designing solutions to address current corporate sustainable challenges and be an agent of change in the Environmental corporate field.
My second option, is an MSc in Corporate Sustainability and Environmental Management at University of York. The focus on Ethical Sustainability complements my expertise in Environmental Management. This approach will help me analyse the risks associated with activities that impact climate change and responsible decision making to benefit social responsibility within organisations. Data analysis is key to establish a project and track its improvements. Undergoing this master's will allow me to become a change agent within any organisation.
MSc Sustainability and Environmental Management at Coventry University is my third choice. This degree focuses on the roll that environmental policy and social responsibility plays is sustainability. It provides a global view on how a manager could help an organisation achieve international sustainability programmes. Additionally, it provides management and auditing programmes that will give me a competitive advantage in all sectors. This MSc provides an insight as to what roll plays global environmental policy in guiding government and non-government organisations.
All three courses provide a combination of industry integrate meetings, case studies, practices, and seminars with industry's professional that allow network opportunities. As and Environmental Scientist with field and administration experience, I want to develop skills in other areas of Integrated Sustainable Management and these courses will broaden my knowledge and give me bases to challenge myself in designing solutions to address sustainable business impacts that allow me to grow and contribute as a sustainability manager in my country.
