PERSONAL STATEMENT FOR MEDIA COMMUNICATION PROGRAM
Media started to interest me at school, thanks to a history teacher who invited me to become a member of the school media team. Unfortunately, in my school, paper media died out in the early years of the institution. Subsequently, there was a lack of awareness of students, teachers and parents about the events taking place in our school. With the development of the Internet and the appearance of the school website, this problem was partially solved. However, the site was not particularly popular. We decided to create a new school media format - a school Instagram account, which started with great success in the first months of work. Moreover, to this day it is not only a source of information and communication, but also an integral part of school life. We had a large team consisting of students from different classes, a whole school advertising agency, where everyone performed certain functions and had their own responsibilities. Due to this experience, I became interested in media communications. Now, digital media is becoming more and more complex, so I am enrolling in the department of media communication at a Korean university to become a highly qualified specialist with an international diploma and contribute to the cooperation and exchange of technologies in the field of communications and media between countries.
I offered to send our project to a major school media competition, which was attended by over 60 teams from different schools from all over Russia, as well as some CIS countries. We took the unconditional first place, which finally convinced me that social networks and media are closely related to each other and are now important things as far as communication is concerned. During my studies, I always showed myself as a student with an active life position and took part in many extracurricular activities. I served on the school student council and participated in many extracurricular activities. In addition, I was a vice-president of the school council for two years. Usually we wrote scripts, invented skits and costumes by ourselves. It seems to me that great experience helped me get acquainted with several related fields of various activities at once. What prepared me the most for this profile was being on the set of a historical documentary as it helped me gain practical skills needed to be successful in media communications. We had a small team - only 2 people: a history teacher and me. We acted as screenwriters, directors, interviewers and cameramen, traveled to various historical places, interviewed, sorted out archives. After that, a city museum became interested in me and offered to make a film about the history of the architecture of our city and make this film part of the exhibition. I never imagined that I could make a real documentary that would be broadcast to a lot of people. But what is most important is the experience that I got by being able to try myself in completely different roles from screenwriter to cameraman. In the future, I will make the most of my knowledge at the university, continuing to improve my skills there.
In addition to the teachers at school, my parents had a great influence on me. My family is not just relatives; it is support and support in the most difficult moments of life. Due to their support I decided to apply for this scholarship. There are three of us in the family: mom, dad, and me. Thus, my family is complete, but small. I aspire to become a person who is as passionate about his work as my mother is. She is a high school and middle school math teacher and a form teacher. Such qualified teachers as she, with her incredible approach to children, you will not find anywhere else. She is an absolute professional in her field, who can explain complex equations in simple terms and solve all the problems of the children in the class no worse than a professional psychologist does. I aspire to become a person who is as passionate about his work as my mother is.The only child in a family usually receives more attention than each of two or more children in families with several children. As the only child, I never shared my central position with anyone, did not fight for this position with a brother or sister. However, I have never been an egocentric child and did not feel like the navel of the earth. My parents worked hard to provide for my carefree childhood. Therefore, from the first grade I went home alone, cooked my own dinner; looked after my grandmother. Therefore, I grew up to be an independent and ambitious person. My family cannot afford the costly study abroad, so I want to take the opportunity given by the Korean government and apply for a GKS.
In 2019, I received a certificate of secondary general education, the average score of which is 4.8. However, I did not manage to enter the university in the desired specialty, as there were not enough exam scores. Despite everything, I did not despair and decided to go through this path again, while simultaneously studying the Korean language, earning money and preparing for the upcoming exams. This serious decision made me more responsible, purposeful and organized. For example, now I work as a teacher in a language school, as well as in a camp with it. Every child needs a different approach; there are difficult children, there are soft and more open. In the same way, in the field that I have chosen to study, it is important to find channels of interaction and cooperation in a large team of completely different people. I not only teach them, but also improve my level of English, constantly learning something new for myself. Children can also teach me a lot, they have a different look at everyday things.
I have been interested in Korea since 2017. In subsequent years, studying the language and culture in general, I drew attention to how Korea quickly adopts new trends and does not stand still for years, and the Koreans themselves do not want to be left behind, which means they quickly consume new technologies. At the same time, despite being involved in the world economy and globalization, Koreans are very attached to their culture and traditions. My dream is to learn how to promote the culture of my country around the world using various brands, products as part of our unique culture. I am applying for a GKS program, as it is a way to get innovative knowledge, a way to fulfill my dream and reach my goal. In my country, digital marketing began to take shape only in 2012. Our digital market is developing slowly; we do not have a quality education. My goal is to create a solid ground for the development of specialists, who are so lacking in the market, who in the future will be able to export our culture to other countries with the help of the global power of media communications, developing not only economic, but also diplomatic relations. In the current political conditions, it is necessary to actively use the opportunity to overcome the existing limitations, by bringing people together, united by a common goal and activity. People can create incredible things across cultural differences and geographic distance. Such unique cooperation can strengthen interethnic relations and open up new ways for countries to cooperate with each other.
Thank you.
