I was wondering if I gave too much of a summary as an introduction and whether or not I focused enough on actually answering the question given. Thank you!

As a human, it is natural to desire to leave behind a legacy before dying. In The Fault in Our Stars by John Green, protagonist Augustus Waters portrays this longing through his witty actions. Augustus is constantly playing video games, however, instead of aiming to win, his goal is to save the lives of all the innocent humans. The more lives he saves in the game, the more he wants to be a hero in reality. He simply wishes to leave a mark upon the world and the fact that he is going to die as just another unremembered cancer victim upsets him. Once he falls in love with Hazel Lancaster, his wish is thus granted, for his mark will forever be left on her.

Augustus Waters is my hero. We all know that life is short, especially for Augustus, and he shows us how to live life to the fullest. Whether he knows it or not, he makes a huge impact on the people who truly matter to him and I wish to do the same. As he risks his life to travel and help fulfill his girlfriend's dream, he inspires me to travel as well. I followed in his footsteps and flew to Taiwan to help fulfill students' dreams of learning English. My dream is to continue to help people and therefore leave my own mark on the world. Augustus is the charming, confident friend who shows me exactly how to accomplish it.

Hmmm.... I wish you provided more insights of what the story line conveys and tell them how they impacted your perceptions.
