Essay #1: Given what you know about Boston University, what do you hope to accomplish as an undergraduate here? Please respond in an essay of no more than 500 words.
Three years ago, I came to Qatar, and enrolled in a school in Doha. I was excited by all the new opportunities given to me in my new surroundings. The different environment exerted varied influences, thus prompting me to think deeply about my future and myself.
Since I began to search for colleges that offer programs which I want to major in, I found Boston University's business program is the one that inspired me the most. I have heard that the business college in Boston University is known for its great system. In addition, the fact that some of faculties in BU are Novelist surprised and encouraged me to apply Boston University. Above all, I have done assisting teacher in economics and business since two years ago and have expanded my interest of studying business and sharing my information with others. I believe Boston University will not only keep, but also promote my interest and my talent in business.
Mostly, good business leader gets in touch with lots of people that could help each other when they encounter hardship. I hope to be a good business leader; Boston University greatly attracted me because of several reasons. First, while I looked up for BU, I could know many interesting things. I heard that more than 80% of students live in campus and it makes university life much liveliness. Above all, about 13% of students are from more than a hundred countries since BU encourage 'Diversity' in its campus.
Second, I have known how hard the life in new surroundings and the BU's 'The international students & scholars office (ISSO)' could give me a hand to adapt well in new place. In the website, it helps students not only in education, but also in interview for jobs.
Last but not least, Boston University is composed of 17 schools and colleges that including more than 250 programs which mean over 16000 students. Also, many communities in the campus will enable me to interact with the others easier. As I lived 3 years in Qatar, which is really small country, I always wanted to see bigger world and experience different people.
Now I am ready for the next challenge as I apply to the Boston University. I know that I can overcome cultural differences, adapt to my surroundings, and bring my experience to bear on university life. I will do my best with those things, and I will prepare myself to become a good business leader.
