'I can become a successdul engineer in the future' - for APIASF

In 500 words or less, please describe your personal and educational goals. What challenges have you faced that have helped shape those goals? How have you dealt with those challenges?

Everyone has dreamed about their future. so have I. I want my furture be successful and I can become a successdul engineer in the future. I came to America with my family to look for a better education. The first thing I have to overcome is the language. I know it is not a easy to do, I have spoke Chinese for almost 18 years. I heard one of my friend laughed at me and said," You can not do it and you can not go to college, you do not have enought time to come up, so give it up." I felt grieved. However, I know if I do not try it and just stay there, I gain nothing. Since then, I began to try to talk to people in the school and everyday listen English listening comprehension on the way to the school. I tried everything that can improve my English speaking and writing.When I go home, I would watch some TV show in the computer and listen what the characters say in the show.I do believe that it is a very good way to study English.In fact, I did really good job on this. My parents were so proud of me. I believe that a laughter dream is worthy to come true.Whatever hoe the other people think about it, but the first thing is you should believe yourself and do it. Once I decided to do, I will try my best to make it.

hey, I think you misunderstand your topic.
I am a Chinese student who are currently study in Canada, and have been in local high school for 2 years.
I have the similar feeling as you do when I came here at first.

The first thing I think you should do is to make a list of concept that you are about to write.
and there are 4 things you need to focus on.
1. personal goal (what do you want to be? etc.)
2.educational goal (what degree you want gain in school? or what will you do after u finish school , like relevant jobs)
3. what kind of challenge do you face?
4. how do u solve your problem?

the idea of writing about how you improve your english is good, you may describe it more specific.
most admission officers would like to see stories from students' personal experience, but keep it short and critical at the same time.
