Why Lafayette? (20-200)
Friday November 15, 2013, is a day I will never forget and it was the day stepped into Lafayette College. Since I got to Lafayette for OBC I knew it was the perfect fit for me. I would imagine myself waking up at Kamine Hall and walking to the Acopian Engineering Center through Lafayette's beautiful and inspiring campus. I would love to go to one of the famous Lafayette vs. Lehigh (Boo Lehigh!) football games and proudly wear one of the Maroon t-shirts that have trash about Lehigh. Academically, I know that Lafayette will help me excel as an engineer and become a better person. I know that I won't be alone after I graduate and that Lafayette will help me find a job through its successful career service department. During the transition from high school to college I might struggle but I'm ready to face challenges and overcome myself. Nothing in life is easy, and I don't want it to be easy; getting out of your comfort zone makes you more comfortable with future challenges.
There's a difference between being busy and being engaged. Lafayette comes alive each day with the energy of students who are deeply engaged in their academic, co-curricular and extracurricular explorations. In response to the second prompt, keep it simple - choose one activity and add depth to our understanding of your involvement. What do you do? Why do you do it? (20-200 words)
It all began on January of 2012. During that time I had a tremendous love for expensive sneakers and I noticed how much Sneakerheads, or a person who collects limited or hard to find footwear, would pay for limited sneakers. It started as a hobby, I would camp over 12 hours outside stores to get my hands on very limited sneakers and sell them for hundreds of dollars over the retail price. I started buying sneakers with only $300 dollars, and 4 months later I made over $3,000 dollars in profit. I first started selling sneakers locally but before I knew it I was shipping sneakers to the other side of the world. I used websites such as Ebay, Craigslist and Facebook to sell sneakers and advertise myself. My best investment yet has been the Nike Air Yeezy 2, designed by the rapper Kanye West. There were only around 4,000 pairs made worldwide and retailed for $245 dollars. However due to its exclusivity its reselling price was $2,500 dollars. Being a reseller has thought me many different things such as how to manage and save money and how to deal with different types of costumers.

It's a stress reliever which makes adrenaline run all over my body. It's not a drug or a medicine, it's the gym. When I am in the gym all my worries go away, I just put my on headphones and I forget about everything. I lift weights to be better, stronger, healthier and competitive. From it I have developed discipline, drive and focus in every other area of my life. I strive to get to a point where when I walk into a room, introduce myself to someone, or go to a job interview I would look dominant, in charge, and in control... To a point where people could notice how dedicated I am without me having to say a word. I started to lift weights due to obesity. Everywhere I used to go people would be concerned about my health but now there's not a better felling than when people see me and say "Wow, are you Hennjer?
