Okay so I wrote this essay and I feel like it is missing something! Please help! Thanks!
LIVING WITH A FATHER IN FLORIDA
Write an essay in which you tell us about someone who has made an impact on your life and explain how and why this person is important to you.
It is amazing how some things can impact a life in such a large manner. We, as human beings, are so used to taking the little things for granted and noticing the big things a lot more. In my case, a small person has impacted my life so greatly, and, to my surprise, continues to do so. My youngest sister, Camila, has helped me grow in many ways.
Camila does not talk much nor understands what most people are saying, but she does know how to make her day an enjoyable one. Whether it is running around the house, or playing with her toys, she is never bored. I consider myself a fortunate young adult who owns a car, has interesting devices, and I still consider my life to sometimes be boring. How is it possible that I, having so much more than just toys, can have such a thing as a pointless day?
Camila lives with my father in Florida and I tend to visit that side of the family every holiday possible. This summer, I had the pleasure of visiting my father and staying in his apartment. One day, when my father stepped out for a while to run some errands, I sat down and began to watch Camila. The way she ran around and made funny animal noises amused me. She also would take pots and pans out of the cabinets and pretend she was some sort of rock star. As I kept on watching her, I began to realize how every action she executed was mediocre in my eyes, but unbelievably amazing in hers.
This little girl and I are extremely alike. Just as she is amazed by the little things she does, I am always proud of the activities I carry out as well. If I am ever unhappy with any results, I find a way to tweak the things that are wrong and make them better. The difference is that I don't always have fun with what I do. Camila has taught me how to enjoy myself in addition to being proud.
My sister has unwillingly pointed out the achievements and failures of my life. Due to Camila, I have noticed that I do not always feel grateful for the things that form part of my life nor do I take the advantage of the moment. Ever since she was born, she has constantly showed me that life is not about what one receives of it or what one owns, but more of what one makes of it. She has taught me how to work for what I am interested in, just as she would work to get a special toy she would see on the TV. Camila is no superhero, she has not made a big impact on society, but she has been able to rock the world I live in and make me notice that a change does not always work against a person.
Although this little girl has impacted me in unimaginable ways, she has also truly helped me grow as a person, and I believe she continues to do so. I look forward to seeing her every moment possible just to figure out what I have been doing with my life, adding on what I need to change. I am grateful that she came as part of my life because if she had never entered it, well let us say I wonder what I would have been like this very day.
