"If accepting a position on the waitlist, please briefly tell us why you feel UC Davis is the right place for you to continue your education. Please limit your response to 200 words. Note that you will only be able to submit your essay once, so please review it carefully before submitting. "
UC Davis is my top choice for pursuing undergraduate studies in the field of Biology, as well as dedicating myself to the community. If admitted, I plan on participating the next two years in the Research Experience for Undergraduates Program as well as the clinical internships at the student-run clinics at UCDMC. Being recently promoted to ER Scribe Trainer, I also plan on bringing more clinical opportunities to UC Davis. As a scribe, I work for ER physicians and am responsible for inputting patient data into Electronic Medical Record systems. This provides me a rare glimpse of patient and physician interaction, as well as experience with medical history, labs, and radiology reports. The exposure is invaluable for students wanting to pursue medicine, and I have the ability and experience to staff local hospitals with medical scribes. Having spoken to UC Davis alumni, I've also been eagerly informed of the campus' student-friendly community, countless of resources for students, and the top notch faculty. This feedback, and having visited the school as a High School student, has solidified my decision to attend this peaceful biking and environmentally friendly university - a place where I can continue to focus on my academic studies.
