<PROMPT>
We often hear the phrase 'the good life'. In fact, the University of Florida's common course required of all undergraduate students is titled "What is the Good Life?". The concept of 'the good life' can be interpreted in many different ways depending upon the experiences, values and aspirations of each individual.

In a concise narrative, describe your notion of 'the good life'. How will your undergraduate experience at the University of Florida prepare you to live 'the good life'?

</PROMPT>

<ESSAY> A day in 'the good life' begins with waking to the sound of jazz. Afterwards, I get up, eat some breakfast, and leave. Then, as I'm driving, I intrigue myself by thinking about the results I contributed to. I start to think about the work it took to get here. I think about the countless hours that I spent researching and the countless hours at UF that I spent developing the skills for creating the greatest innovation since the invention of the internet.

I then arrive at the destination. As I exit the car, I see a familiar four hundred foot tall hyperboloid tower with smoke drifting from the top and, again, marvel at it. Near it, I see the control room. Just thinking about the contribution I made to such a world-changing mechanism fascinates me. Quality results give me a sense of fulfillment. I enter the control room where everybody is enthusiastic. This is the most important day of our lives; it is the day that our creation, the first nuclear-fusion reactor, will power its first city. Before the new reactor is connected to the branching cable that will power the city, we check that the energy output is enough to power the city. The voltmeter reads "900,000 VOLTS". This voltage represents the obsolescence of burning fossil fuels. This voltage represents the end of the world's dependence on oil rich countries. This voltage represents the end of the human race's contribution to global warming.

After celebrating this groundbreaking development, I go to the tennis courts to teach my parent-child tennis group. I begin by showing the standard service-motion. After I finish, I demonstrate a good serve by hitting a 120 MPH serve into the corner of the service box. I then bring over the ball basket and have the group start serving. Although I don't see much immediate improvement, I feel a sense of accomplishment by contributing to the development of their tennis skill over time. After hitting plenty of serves, I set up some match play. As I watch their matches, I coach the them on their strategies. I feel a sense of accomplishment, because I often see immediate improvement in their shot-selection. After match play, the group-class ends and the families leave. Then, my friend and doubles partner, who I met playing intramural tennis at UF, arrives and we start warming up to prepare for our tennis tournament tomorrow.

'The good life' isn't simply the life in which I have the most money. Worldly possessions don't guarantee happiness. Living in the moment and making a contribution to society can guarantee happiness. This day from my 'good life' certainly allows me to always live in the moment, enjoy what I am doing and, in the process, make a contribution to society. On this day from the 'good life', I would look back on my experiences at UF as the experiences that enabled me to build a career that keeps me present to what I am doing and help others at the same time. </ESSAY>

Taylor, this is a very good flash forward into the good life that you envision. However, the essay is asking you to define the good life as you understand it in your present, current life and how the University of Florida may help to further enhance of evolve that definition for you. Your essay speaks of your future expectations and plans, which is not the center theme of the essay. Please review your definition of the good life and revise the essay to present your current understanding of the prompt rather than a flashback or flash forward. You only need to define it as current and how UF can help refine, improve, and give further meaning to your definition in the future.
