There are two types of books you can easily find in my family's bookshelf. Encyclopedia books are one type of them. I spent large amount of time reading them when I was young. The other kinds are articles and dissertations on network communications; unfortunately they are out of my level of understanding. Those books served my father while completing his doctoral degree.
My academic goals include major in computer science and minor in economics. Like Encyclopedia books, economics is a science that covers variety of fields. My interests are widespread in many areas, and I'd like to gain knowledge as much as possible. Economics is about how people make choices. To make choices, we need to consider many different variables that can affect those choices. My desperation of gaining knowledge can easily help me going further in the study of economics.
Though out my widespread interests, technology is the part I paid most attentions on. Updates in the field of technology happen rapidly, especially in the area of computer technology. I was born and raised in China. New technologies and new businesses were being introduced to China every day, computer software companies in particular. Not many of them can survive in the highly competitive market, some of them failed because the lack of financing, others because of lack of innovations. The goal I set after graduate from college is enter a company and gain ideas about how companies works and trying to start one.
