I have enjoyed reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelly - Short Answer Crisis!

I have enjoyed reading Frankenstein by Mary Shelly. It is a wonderful book about how Victor Frankenstein goes through the trouble of creating life and afterwords, despising it. It revolves around the theme of acting like god. Although we may think that we are in control of our world, we must remind ourselves that there is a greater being who is truly in control. Another theme that interests me is solitude is the worst of all evils. Our nature thrives on belonging to a group or being among our people. The monster confronts Victor in hopes for a partner that shares the sorrow like he does. This book taught me that we need a relationship with someone in our lives. Without that rapport, then we would grow bitter, angry, and even violent. Also, I have learned that, as humans, we have our limits, which are more beneficial than destructive.

This is a supplement answer for Columbia University and I want some help on if it is okay or not. Thank you!

This is a quality answer. You highlighted a book you enjoyed, and related it to a omnipresent concept of having relationships. However, I'm not entirely sure that you should say "This book taught me that we need a relationship with someone in our lives." This seems like you had no idea person to person relationships were important before you read the book. You can say that this book reiterated the need for relationships in our lives or it reenforced the need for relationships. Other than that minor technicality this is strong, good luck with Columbia.

My main suggestion would be to summarize the novel less. Nearly everybody knows what Frankenstein is about. Talk more about what the novel taught you, or what made you realize. I really liked your point about how the novel focuses on the aspect of solitude, and what you said about that.

I would also try to clarify the prompt even--I know it asks your to list required readings from school/summer you enjoyed, so I would try to find out for sure if they want a short analysis of a book you liked, or an actual list, like "I liked Frankenstein, The Great Gatsby and The Crucible" or something.
