Describe one of your greatest strengths. Given the knowledge you have gained about the Queen's Commerce Program, describe how this strength will help you to succeed in the program. (Please limit your answer to 300 words or fewer, approximately 1950 characters with spaces)
Everyone has a strength and a weakness - a superpower and a kryptonite. My greatest strength is my perseverance, especially, in spite of adversity. There have been times where I have felt failure but, these situations have become successes due to my resilience and my refusal to give up.
From my knowledge of the Queen's Commerce Program, I know that it is mentally grueling but achievable. I am certain that with my perseverance, I will successfully complete the program with flying colours. One of the many reasons I appreciate the commerce program is because it is very structured, detailed and diverse. The program would allow me to try different categories within the business field so that I can learn a little bit about everything. I know that I will not be familiar with every subject covered in the curriculum but, with perseverance, I will continue to study and work despite my uncertainty.
I learned a long time ago to never give up or quit. Without perseverance the goals I have set for my experiences at Queen's would not be accomplished. I have worked hard throughout my high school career to excel in my classes and extra-curricular activities. I will adapt to my environment so that I can easily navigate through my learning. I plan to continue this habit at Queen's and to persevere throughout my studies and future endeavours.
One of the most important lessons I have learned is that you cannot have great success without experiencing great failure. When a situation resulting in failure arises, it is important to persevere despite adversity and to continue to work towards goals. If I gave up every time I felt discouraged or did not believe I could succeed, I would never have been brave enough to apply to the Queen's Commerce Program.
