Peeking from around the corner of the living room, the screams became very distinct. I was grabbed from the hips and thrown over the shoulder of my father and we began to exit through the doorway. I didnt exactly know what was happening, but the anger in my parents eyes frightened me. At that moment I knew that our family would never be the same again.
At the age of three, I began my new life with my father. There were many stuggles we had to undergo but we took care of one another. He is my hero and served as my rolemodel in my early childhood. Throughout my entire life he guided me in the right direction and ecouraged me to do the best in school. Since it was just my father and I, that pertained him to work multiple jobs to pay the bills and keep our house. This also entitiled me to grow up at a young ago and become a responsible young adult. School became important to me because it gave me time to spend with my father while studying every night. My grades have always been an imperative part of my life because they have always made my father proud of me and that is the best feeling in the world. It has pushed me to challange myself in everything I do.
I was enrolled in a elementary school in the state of New York where I started challanging myself in honors classes. During fourth grade I was involved in the acedemic club called Oddessy of the Mind. Only a few were nominated out of our class and then given a test to qualify. It was a very enjoyable experience that provided creative problem solving opportunities. We traveled around the state presenting our mechanical devices and also a interpretation of a literary classic given to us. My father was always there in the front of the auditorium cheering me on and encouraging me.
My father and I have traveled many times throughout my life trying to find the perfect life for us. He has supported me in everything I do. With all of the moving I have endured, starting new sports and classes has become a regular task. I have been an honor student for as long as I can remember. I have also been involved in two or more sports for every year of my life. Staying busy, focused and organized is a valuable thing to me. This is something my father has taught me over the years and I will always have with me as I grow up. To this day I am envolved in two varsity sports, three clubs, two jobs and partake in honors and college classes. My education is important to me while also living every day to the fullest and enjoying every second of it. I enjoy getting up early and learning something new everyday.
I know that my dilagance, persiveriance, hard work and love for the criteria will follow me to the University of Florda as well as striving to my full potential. I know I will be a great contribution to the University of Florida campus community by expressing my love for education, helping out others, being involved in the school community and being an addition to my dream school and living it out to the fullest. I believe that my personalitly, work ethic and responsibility matches perfectly with University of Florida's community mentally and most importantly acedemically.
