As a first generation on college student you learn the importance of education. While watching your parents trying to make ends meet. As I look into the road ahead. I see all the opportunities that a have in front of me. By going to college I can succeed and transform into a better student and person. I am a senior at Ossining high school aspiring to get a master's degree in communication and finance studying. My parents did not have the opportunity to attend college. My parents were both born and raised in small town in Africa where they received their high school diploma as their highest level of education. I worked closely with my counselors and teachers when applying to college. Although my parents did not go to college, they encouraged me to attend. My large family dedicated their days off to taking me to visiting colleges. My parents understood my strong feelings toward higher education.

You should also talk about the challenges you faced during school, like getting thru your four years of highschool. doing extracurricular activites to make you stand out to colleges etc
