I am a go-getter! ; College APP - About Myself

Writing about oneself appears easy but when I try to put the ideas down on paper words seem to be elusive. However, as I write this essay, I am reminded to think of who my audience is and how best I can order my words so as to make anyone reading this understand what I am really writing about. The description I give about myself is not meant to make me look a weakling or a self-pitying character but someone with strong character and great personality which adds to the diversity of a typical college campus.

That being said, I view myself as a humble student willing to take my studies all the way and involve myself in extracurricular activities during my out-of-class sessions. I may not be an all round student but I like exploring new avenues without the fear of taking risks. I also engage myself in whatever tasks ahead of me without hesitation or looking back; in other words, I am a go-getter! I am different in the sense that I look at failure positively as a stepping stone to do the right thing and become a better person. Being a human being with weaknesses, I look at them as opportunities to learn. I also like academic challenges because they make me sharp and give me insight. This allows me to build on my character. In addition, I have a competitive nature which enables me stand out from the crowd and reach my full potential.

I love how the essay is written. Nice transition from each sentence. I do really enjoy the intro, however you really have to work on making your essay longer.
