I am going to apply for Erasmus Mundus undergraduate exchange, this is my Statement of Purpose.

Dear Scholarship Selection Committee,
"Never give up!" - That sentence has been in my mind since the moment my teacher announced me the result of Informatics National Competition for high school students. That was my second year in high school with lots of ambitions and I failed one of the most important competitions in my student's life. My high school is in a small city in the Central Highlands of Vietnam, where it was really difficult to find books related to the major I have chosen - Computer Science. I almost had to study by myself because most of my friends wanted to go to University of Pharmacy. As a preparation before the competition, I used to take part in many online programming contests, which were very late in Vietnamese time because they were mainly hosted in the other countries. More and more difficulties faced me, but I had tried to overcome all to keep moving forward with my passion. I got a high rank in the same competition in the following year and was honourably selected to attend directly to University of ........ without taking the entrance exam.
Last summer, I had first chance to have an internship in an IT company in Japan for 2 months. All my curiosities with working spirit of Japanese have never been answered until I was working in a team with new solutions that contributes to the effectiveness of teamwork in my company. Working as a web developer, I was responsible for my own new feature which would be released after my internship finished. Also, I have a big interest in Artificial Intelligence especially about Natural Language Processing in Vietnamese language, which has not been researched well until now.
My English skills were not so good when I was a freshman, so that the first step I took was improving my English skills to raise my opportunities in the following year. I have never attended any official English class but a lot of English club's activities, especially about speaking and debating. In another way, I am doing a volunteer work at the External Relation Office in my university, where I often help international students from other countries come for studying or a short-term program at my university. I not only have the chances to practice many languages but also learned a lot of unique culture from international friends.
Most of the students in my university are facing the same problems in learning English. That is the reason I always want to create an environment for students to practice English. Currently, I am the Vice President of English Club in the dormitory I live, with almost 60 official members. We have every-week events which mostly aim to improve English skills of students and contribute to community services.
My dream to study abroad has grown since I was a high school student when I started to study programming with international friends on the Internet. I always strived to improve my specialized knowledge, language skills and leadership to reach closer to the dream that I have prepared for a long time. Last year, I became the local partner of a Master of Architecture student from Barcelona, who got Erasmus Mundus scholarship for one semester in my university. Helping him during his semester has broadened my mindset and understanding towards different characters, various types of people, and that is the reason I set my goal to become a part of Erasmus Mundus scholarship.
I am very honoured to apply for the Erasmus+ program for one exchange semester at ...... University of ..., one of the best universities in Italy. The faculty of Information Engineering, Informatics and Statistics seems completely fit with my desires to study in the field of Artificial Intelligence, with many related courses I am truly interested in. I am impressed by the outstanding educational system, focus on gathering relevant work experience, excellent facilities and especially the largest university library system in Italy.
I have a firm belief this program is the opportunity for me to learn many things in a professional and international environment, which will contribute to my career plan in Europe. I expect to interact with different kinds of people in many situational contexts, eliminate cultural prejudices because of cultural barriers and build a long-term relationship for professional experiences and international friendships. I am confident that I will exceed the expectations, because of both my academic and interpersonal skills.
