It was three years ago when I met Mr. James for the first time. He was English teacher in my middle school. The first class with him was somewhat weird.To most, it may be easy to distinguish the difference between the sentences , "J.S. is the very girl who I have been looking for," and "J.S. is the very most beautiful girl." However, I could not.I used to struggle understanding English. At the time, the only way I could do was memorize because the only language I knew was Korean. With him, however , I prepared myself for what I needed-- to learn and study by myself. (I'm not sure what you were trying to say.)Instead of giving me fish, Mr. James taught me how to fish for myself. We surmounted with Mr. James by being aware of subtle nuance in English expression. Being his student for two years has inspired me to study further more about English in foreign language schools . Korea's foreign language schools have their own policy about choosing their prospective students such as TOEFL, TOEIC, school grades, and their own exams . There were so many things to do. Whenever I got tired of studying, he inspired me with a saying from Nixon, 37th president of U.S., " A man is not finished when he is defeated. He is finished when he quits."
Although I have failed to enter the foreign language school, I have no regrets because I tried my best. The way what he bestowed me is not just simple one. (<-- what are you trying to say?)The things he drew in my mind remained and assisted me in adapting myself to my new surrounding, Qatar.
Of course, thanks to Edison, I do not have to spend my pitch-dark night with a firefly and because of Bill Gates, I might not lose my way in the sea of information on the Internet. AlthoughI have no doubt that these and many other people have affected my life. However, compared with the impact of Mr. James, their affections are negligible. Without him, I would be unable to cope with the hardships that I have encountered.
