Who would you like to bring do your backyard (Karen) - NYU application

If you had the opportunity to bring any person -- past or present, fictional or nonfictional -- to a place that is special to you (your hometown or country, a favorite location, etc), who would you bring and why? Tell us what you would share with that person.

im having trouble writing this essay
i have only gotten so far:

Karen Lee Orzolek , is who I would like bring to my backyard. She is the vocalist of New York band The Yeah Yeah Yeahs who through her music has calmed the stressing nights of abundant homework and has fired up my adolescent energy. As we sit in the green patches of grass we'll converse of her abstract sense of fashion, movies and art. With the evening sky warming our spirit we'll engage in talk of books and paintings. With Karen, I would love to escape to a world of our own where she can share her experiences of walking the streets of Europe and I can share my dreams of traveling the world.

please revise and iwould be glad to receive advice and comments.
any suggestions?

I like how at the end there's a little parallelism going on. And that's a unique character to choose. I really want to know more about why you chose her though. There's a lot of people you could talk to about fashion, movies and art, but why her? And you can take out the comma after Karen's name. :)

Great start though! And if you could, I'd appreciate your advice about my Common App essay. :)

PS. I'm applying to NYU too. Maybe we'll meet up one day. :)

I really like your choice of person - at least you're not one of those pretentious people who say they want to bring Socrates to their hometown to discuss views on existentialism or whatever.

Just one change, take out the "New York" bit from "New York band..."
