1. St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus, encouraged his followers to live their lives in the service of others. How do you plan to serve others in your future endeavors? (400/400 words)

I watched in awe as an airplane landed on the runway. I was at the Berlin airport in Germany, ready to fly back to the States from a two week vacation in Europe. As my flight took off, I looked out of the window in amazement as the plane lifted its wheels off the runway. The speed intensified, everything that was life-size became miniature, and I felt like I was the king of the world. It was at the moment I fell in love with aviation.

While I have always had an interest in nursing, my trip to Europe encouraged a quirky interest in aviation. The only way I could join these completely different careers together was to become a nurse in the Air Force. After college, I plan to serve my country as a nurse to those who are in direct combat against enemy lines.

It's not just being able to work in an environment with airplanes, but rather the sense of purpose that motivates me to join the Air Force. Before, I didn't know exactly how I wanted to direct my life. My mom always reassured me that by becoming a nurse, everything would take care of itself. Now that I have a goal, I possess motivation to drive myself forward. I want to serve my country because it's a calling worth answering; I want to give back to the country for all that it has provided me: a chance for my family to restart, a different life not offered in Taiwan, good healthcare, and affordable education. As a nurse officer, I'll be serving the very soldiers that are protecting our country. I'll patch up the wounds, conduct medical examinations for veterans, and take care of a soldier's family members. I may not be in direct combat, but aiding those who are fighting. I'll live in the service of others by applying all the skills I've gained from schooling and give to these soldiers the care and treatment they deserve for their service.

I look forward to the day I can gladly say to myself, "You have served your country well." I firmly believe that if I have the motivation and dedication to drive myself, I'll reach the goal. In due time, I'll stand as an officer, saluting the flag of the United States with my nurse badge.

I really like this essay and the direction you chose to take. However, I would maybe spend a little more time expanding upon the nursing aspect as that seems to be more of the focus of the essay than the aviation. Also, second paragraph seems like a slightly forced transition and I suggest revising that.
