Option #4: Describe a place or environment where you are perfectly content. What do you do or experience there, and why is it meaningful to you?

Im applying to purdue university. Please give comments about my essay. Is it relevant for my topic ?

Home is the place where I feel I am perfectly content. It is not specific to a certain place but where my family members are. As a matter of fact, unconditional love from my family members is the greatest gift I received in my life. It has always been true to me that my family has always been there to fulfill my every need; making me feel content and complete even through time of trial and tribulation.

I spent my childhood growing up at a rural part of Johor, Malaysia. It was a cozy home located just at the side of the village on a small hill. Surrounding my home was a field of greens, whereby most of my memories were made. On weekends, me and my family would spend our time together gardening as it was my father's hobby, and on occasion we would have barbecue sessions. Although in others' point of view it may be just an event or ways to spend our free time, but it meant the world to me.

My parents especially my father, had to travel down town for work and it usually was from 7 to 7. The only time of the day I would see them were at dinner or weekends. Those time together were really precious to me as it was the only bonding session my family have, it may not be much but it was definitely the happiest moment I ever had.

I grew up to be disciplined and well mannered, as taught by my father. Since young, my father has been very strict to me. My education would be his priority and he always encourages me to study. He does not seem to be satisfied with any of my accomplishment, which made me thought that I was the least favorable among my siblings. As time pass, and the more mature I become, I realized, little by little, that everything he had done was for my own good. It was his little actions that I didn't get his message when I was young, for instance making me a cup of tea when I was burning the midnight oil. That touched me deep down within my heart.

Things weren't any different with my mother. I was very depressed and sad for all the hours of hard work that I have spent often end up with disappointment. I used to envy those that received presents from their parents as an award as this does not seemed to be the case for me. As I grew older, I begin to see things in a different perspective. Looking back to the pass and the present, it is an honor for my parents to have high expectation for me as they believe in me.

Needless to say, my brother is the best partner of my life to share the joys and sorrow with. We are destined to walk our life journey by supporting and encouraging each other. His determination, courage and intelligence has show me the way to success. By his guidance and motivation I have accomplish greater then what I ever thought I was capable and even more. Despite, no words could describe how much I appreciate my brother.

It is undoubtedly true that I had become stronger as I grew up. My family has always been, and will always be by me through thick and thin in life, accepting me for who I am and never letting me down no matter what happens. Even if I have to go out of my comfort zone to a new environment to further my education, I believe that they will always be there to support me in achieving my dreams and lend me a hand when the journey gets tough. I am looking forward to the day when my achievement will make them feel proud of me, in return for their undying and enduring love.

Home is where I feel I am perfectly content. It is not about a particular spot in my house, but it can be anywhere I have the company of my family members, be it the living, dining, bed room or even attic or garage.
