Some students have a background or story that is so central to their identity that they believe their application would be incomplete without it. If this sounds like you, then please share your story.
Searching the ultimate reason for his existence, a man goes on to an adventure to explore himself. There he realizes the existence of his Self-some constant that had existed forever. Then he asks himself, "Who am I?" He never knew that his ego was blocking him from reaching his Self. When he does not ask the question and just travels deeper and deeper, he finds the ultimate reason for his existence: to reach this Divine. And that man is nobody but me.
On February 8th 2014, I completed the YES+ program conducted by the Art of Living Foundation, Nepal. It was from then that I started on the journey to explore myself. I always asked myself questions about who I was, never getting the answer and in parallel, never knowing that I was being limited by my ego. It may be a little bit harder to understand, but I got the answer in complete silence, both in environment and my mind. I was programmed by the Divine, any thoughts or body movements of mine are controlled by the Divine and hence I am a machine built by the Divine. This led me into the deepest sector of spirituality. It was spirituality which made me feel connected to everyone, which made me realize that I was not just a physical body. This knowledge transformed an atheist into a highly religious person. I am a Hindu and proud. My religion created the Vedas and Geeta. These holy books are the books written to interpret the Self, hence the ultimate quest for me.
Little by little I gain the wisdom of life. Little by little I grow up. I believe that perfection is based on 3 facts: an unshakable personality, Wisdom and free from any past or future. Unshakability is the state where I lose all my emotions, nevertheless I won't become insensitive. Wisdom refers to the knowledge of life, and being free from past and future means being free from stress, fear, sadness, regret, frustration and anxiety. One may say perfection is just an illusion, but let him argue, because he is just a fool who does not understand the perfection underlying all around him. The question is, will I be able to achieve it? I leave that to my Karma whilst giving my 100% on the way.
I bow down to my Guru, the one who founded the Art of Living. I surrender to his mysteriously powerful Sudarshan Kriya. And I show my devotion to Him by contributing my fullest to accomplish his vision of making a stress-free mind, crime free society and peaceful world. Jaya Gurudev!
