Questions about writing an essay on 'someone who has made an impact on your life'

Topic: Write an essay in which you tell us about someone who has made an impact on your life and explain how and why this person is important to you.

I chose to write this essay over my mother and describe how she has shown me the importance of customs in our culture. I also wanted explain how she has modeled how to be successful in life through hard work. Does this fit within the limits of the topic? Or am I drifting into another topic- like diversity? If so, is that ok? Should I pick only one thing I have learned fromed her?

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

You could stay focused in one point and develop your essay.

or you could choose three different points and develop them to write your essay:

For example : her hard work( use examples to form a paragraph)
Good relations with other people( use examples to illustrate the main idea))
love and sacrifice for her family( use some examples to develop your point)

Then you conclude.

Yes! It fits, but if you start talking about diversity it might or might not fit. The thing is, you are not putting pieces together; you are driving one deep idea.

Express your idea, the idea you choose as the message of the essay. Get purposeful. If you have one idea you want to get into the reader's head, you will have a great essay.
