RSM BSc - Why International Business Administration?

I'm applying for BSc in International Business Administration at Erasmus University Rotterdam. I have to answer these 3 short questions (maximum 900 characters each) and I'd love to receive your honest feedback and review for clarity, coherence, alignment with requirements, and suggestions for improvement. 1. The Erasmus University offers several different bachelor's programmes in business and economics. Why did you choose business administration? What specific aspects of the RSM IBA programme excite you the most? Tell us what got you excited about the subject and the programme!

My interest in business began at a school fair in grade 4, where I sold K-pop cards with my friends. I remember walking around to attract customers, constantly adjusting prices based on demand, and enthusiastically counting our earnings at the end of the day. That joy of seeing our plan work and customers loving our products still stays with me since then. That is why I chose business administration. I want to understand how business works and eventually lead one someday. What draws me to RSM IBA is its emphasis on practical application. The Strategic Business Plan course lets me visit real companies, analyze their operations, and work on actual business challenges. Meanwhile, Business Simulation allows me to run a company in a dynamic simulated market. This hands-on approach matches how I first discovered my passion for business, which is by doing it.

You cannot use 4th grade exposure to sales within a controlled environment as an influence reference for Business Administrator. The reviewer will be looking for at least high school level exposure to business dealings and your engagement in the business during that time as the main influence for your interest in business. The reviewers have never believed that a primary school exposure, specially below the age of 13, can be considered a real decision making moment. A child of that age is, in their opinion, not sure of what career path they want to follow yet due to a lack of understanding based on their age.



You are not yet a student at the university under Business Administration. Use the correct future time reference. These are what you will be looking forward to learning from by participating in the activities.
