Choose an issue of importance to you-the issue could be personal, school related, local, political, or international in scope-and write an essay in which you explain the significance of that issue to yourself, your family, your community, or your generation.
I've already written the essay and hate it so I'm rewriting it. here is my introduction. the topic is a bit vague but i have an idea on how I'm going to organize it.
Introduction
Throughout history society has changed drastically in every aspect. One that is most noticeable now is the values and social norms. In the past century we have come from the discrimination of African Americans to the acceptance of all races, genders, and are now even progressing towards homo and bi sexuality. As society changes, so does the general values, and morals. These values are essential in shaping our morals, and it is these morals that we use to guide the way we live our life, and the way we live our lives ultimately dictates who we are and will become.
In the past centuries, society has maintained a consistency in shaping morals towards what is proper and right over immoral and wrong, but in the last few decades this has dissipated. Especially in this twenty first century, society has redirected drastically from traditional values and morals. There has been a downfall in the youth today, diminishing hopes for a prosperous future for our nation. The youth is the future and unless we maintain a high standard for each upcoming generation we are doomed to a dark path of new and more severe problems. The greatest threat and issue in America today is the decline of morality in society's generation of youth.
feel free to revise edit w/e I'm open to all criticism, i just wrote this so it could defiantly use some changes.
also should i provide a solution to the issue? or just focus on the significance of it?
