The question is: why do you want to study sociology? Honest feed back please! And should I delete the last sentence???
There are many questions that I cannot get out of my head. Living within me like little creatures, they are constantly reminding me that they need to be answered. Trying to find those answers, I have come to the realization that my questions all originate in the same place. They come from my encounters with human group behavior, social organization, culture, and society - sociology. I want to understand the origin of social problems and the causes of social change. I want to understand the connection between culture and behavior, why people stereotype and judge each other, why societies choose to fail. I want to understand how society has affected me and will in the future. I want to understand how I can impact it effectively. It is as simple as that. I just want to find answers.
I believe Brown's Sociology Program, would not just support me on my way to find those answers, but more importantly stimulate me to ask even more questions.
