Some students like classes where teachers lecture (do all of the talking) in class. Other students prefer classes where the students do some of the talking.
Some students would rather just listen to the professor, and they do not interest in participating in class, but I prefer an active class, which students take part in the discussion and keep trying to talk about topics. In this regard, I argue that in an active class, students could interact with professor, obtain more information, and learn better.
Mainly, students are able interact with the professor and other students. Indeed, students have communication with their professor and other students, so they display an active class perfectly. Also, students are capable of direct the discussion and do not permit that the professor's speech tends to some irrelative issues. For example, students may ask a question which professor has to answer and forget that irrelative issue.
Moreover, students could get more information and data about their lesson. A student could get more information about a certain subject from other students rather than in an inactive class, which no students join the discussion. In addition, many students might have to study some other books or essays to be prepared in the class. For instance, in my class, I read other books about International Politics course because I cannot get a good score without extra study.
Last but not least, students could learn better. Indeed, they are able to remember the materials in their mind very well because their debates cause, they do not be forgotten by students. Students who take part in the debate could feel tranquility because they remember the materials, and they would be hopeful that they could get a good score in their exams. For example, in my
class, I participated in debates, and I got a good mark, so I was happy and glad, and it brought quietness and silence.
To sum up, I strongly support this kind of class, which students join the discussion and talk to professor because they are able to have interaction with the professor, increase their knowledge by getting more information, and learn the materials better. That is why I think classes should be active.
