The Republican Party needs Rand Paul to Conquer All of the 2016 U.S. Presidential Campaign Candidates
MAY 24, 2015

"His plan is to create something new," concluded Washington Bureau Chief for Time magazine Michael Scherer in his recent column about Republican Rand Paul, who in early April had declared himself a candidate for Republican presidential nomination. With his progressive stance over some of the most controversial American politics issues, Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky succeeds in making him stand out from other formidable Republican candidates. Although Mr. Paul is bragging about being an oddball of Republican, he does not just end up impairing the party's glory traditions. Over the issues such as abortion and same-sex marriage, he has continued taking an unfavorable stance as the most of Republicans and their advocators do. By rejuvenating Republican Party as well as by preserving the party's conventions, Mr. Paul aims at becoming the most powerful feature among the Republican candidates including Jeb Bush, Ted Cruz, and Marco Rubio. Now you must start wondering whether or not even he would have a tiny prospect of defeating Democrat Hilary Clinton if he got chosen as a Republican nominee. Well...since there is no doubt that Mrs. Clinton is very stalwart, Mr. Paul will have a harsh period of the competition with lots of sarcasm between the two; however, this does not mean that he does not have a chance. It is about the environment given to him and how he will use it wisely.

The Republican Party is now in a great turmoil. Its conservative, right-winged basis continuously fails to attract racially and generationally extensive voters. (Surprisingly, speaking of its racial demographics, NBC News/ Wall Street Journal Survey on March 2015 shows that 95% of the party's supporters consist of white voters.) The party now needs a major shift in their political image, and Republicans must find someone innovative who can save the future of themselves. The New York Times Washington bureau reporter Jeremy W. Peter describes, "Mr. Paul is likely to be the only one arguing for reducing federal drug penalties, clamping down on the nation's intelligence agencies and taking a more deliberative approach to military intervention." With his liberal political policies, Mr. Paul is considered to have a strong possibility to get votes from non-white, younger voters. He is the one Republicans need. Among those heretic policies, what sets him apart most and attracts the youth must be his position to stop the Patriotic Action by the nation's intelligence agencies. Although Republican Jeb Bush and Marco Rubio oppose to this idea, Mr. Paul keep claiming that he will stop the government's sneak data collection within a day he becomes the President of the United States. According to Time magazine political reporter Zeke J Miller, 43% of Americans aged 18 to 34 support Edward Snowden's leakage while 41% of them do not. This poll evidences that the number of younger generation citizens who are against the government's bulk phone data collection is greater than those who are not. In addition to his all the progressed ideas, his attitude towards immigration also speaks a lot of "Americans." Mr. Paul currently is not for giving an amnesty to illegal immigrants, but he supports giving them legal status under the federal immigration law as long as Congress promises to renovate the country's border security. As Migration Policy Institute claimed, 80 million of immigrants, including their children, lived in the U.S. in 2013. Those immigrants tend to choose the one who will eventually give them legal status or citizenship. As a reformer, Mr. Paul fascinates the diverse groups of Americans. The public supports for him are still predicted to grow. Although Republicans have to admit some of his libertarianism that is against the party's traditions, they will, for sure, need him as an equivalent opponent to Mrs. Clinton for the 2016 campaign; otherwise, there is no future for the party.

According to a latest poll by Huffpost Pollster, Rand Paul's favorability is 34.3% (the highest among the Republican candidates) while that of Hilary Clinton is 45.9%. Looking only at this number, you may assume that Mrs. Clinton is still such a strong candidate that Mr. Paul cannot easily beat. However, her favorability plummeted more than 15 points from the last year after she experienced the storms of her scandals about her private email account and the family foundation's foreign endowment. This situation also creates a salutary environment for Mr. Paul; originally, Mrs. Clinton has had a bad reputation for her extravagance whereas Mr. Paul is famous as a strict budget cutter. Advocated by both public and the GOP adherent, he now strives for creating a small government, which will cost far less than now. Also, as a successor of the President Obama, Mrs. Clinton is not favored by people who are critical about the U.S. foreign intervention and bulk data collection. From those who supports the suspension of military intervention and the Patriotic Action, Mr. Paul, with his political status, is most likely to acquire the votes. Finally, taking over his political status from his father, former Republican Ron Paul, Mr. Paul considers it crucial to take over his father's supporters as well. As he preserves Republicans' position on abortion and gay-marriage, Mr. Paul successfully remains some, if not any, prospects to be voted for by the supporters who supported his father. As he depicts as something different, Mr. Paul will brings a new atmosphere into the 2016 presidential campaign. Until now, His fusion of liberalism and conservatism has already appealed to substantial groups of people. Although it is too early to tell who will win the election, Mr. Paul is the one who will grow the most and rout Hilary Clinton.

To conclude, Mr. Paul has become the most noticeable presidential candidate with his unique politics. His political belief, concerning about drug penalties, the nation's intelligence agencies, U.S. military force abroad, and immigration, is something extraordinary for the Republican Party. Although some Republicans is opposing to these progressive ways of thinking, the party itself should have already been mindful enough of the importance to bring a major reform on the public perception. Addressing both opposition and necessity of Republicans, Mr. Paul has developed a viable political ideas as well as achieved a firmer chance to become the one Republicans yearn for than anybody else. As a supposed Republican nominee, Mr. Paul is also expected to become an equivalent rival candidate against Democrat Hilary Clinton. Because of her recent bureaucratic misbehaviors, including her State Department email account and monetary supports from foreign agents, her credibility has been incredibly stained. Mr. Paul, on the other hand, must have been fueled from her incidents as a budget conservative. His major manifests about preventing U.S. military forces' foreign actions as well as the Patriotic Actions and his status as a son of a politician by birth will also contribute to his victory, absorbing
