Expanding a ban on texting, talking on the phone and internet access while driving

Driving is one of the most dangerous things in this world. A moving vehicle and all the detractions makes some people very nervous about getting behind a wheel. But now we have ordinances banning some of the detractions you can have while driving; like banning texting and talking on the phone while driving. Theirs other things that the phone does that aren't banned yet. So I think that the city of Austin should expand the recent ordinance banning texting in moving vehicles on to internet access also. I say that because you social networks play a role in most humans' lives and banning that will make more people focus and have second thoughts using internet while driving.

Texting, talking on the phone and internet access all go hand and hand. Since all three are very much dangerous why not just ban all three instead of just two. To do all three you have to use electronic devices and therefore it would make sense to go head and ban internet access also. By expanding the ordinance and just banning all three it would make people think two and three times about using or messing with their phone while driving. Because you have to take your eyes off the road to look at whatever you're trying to get on. Once your eyes are off the road there's a problem bound to happen, I'm sure everybody has looked at their phone while driving but with the ban and the consequences out it may just decrease the number of people who drive and deal with their phone.

There should be like a ban put on internet access as far as social network and email because that's what most people are driving and trying to access a social network to stay up to date. So the ban should stop internet access and if you're caught the consequences should be a ticket and some type of way, depending on how many times you get caught doing it. Every time you get caught the fine should go up&up and sooner or later you'll get tired of getting all those fines. Losing money all the time instead of just leaving the phone alone while operating a moving vehicle.

There should be a ban on internet access with social networks because just like texting and talking on the phone causes accidents so does being on social networks while driving. The dangers range from minor too extreme because you might not think your eyes are off the road that long but in reality it's longer then you think. It causes side swipes, car crashes, cars running off the road, cars running over people, running lights, and everything else. But with more and more bans and fines being enforced then more and more people will stop with the electronics and driving. No law enforcement is going to be able to catch everyone that is driving and using an electronic devices but when they do catch someone they can show them that they aren't playing about the laws of using electronics and driving. But the ones who aren't getting caught can start following laws.

According to national cell phone and driving statistics when texting it makes you 23 times more likely to crash and talking on the phone makes it 4 times more likely for the driver to have an accident. If you're talking on a phone it can make your reaction time as slow as a 70 year old reaction time. 94% of drivers agree with the ban about texting and talking on the phone while driving. But 35%admitted to doing it. So if the texting and talking on the phone ban has 94% then there should be almost a 99% of people agreeing with the ban about the internet access with social media. It should be an eye opener because statics show that texting while driving kills 11 teens daily. Ages 15-19 has the largest percent of drivers that text and talk while driving. Teen drivers are much more likely to be distracted then older people because their irresponsible and just think nothing's going to happen till it happens then they don't want to do it no more. By then though it's kind of too late because they've already caused accidents or whatever but at least it's an eye opener.

So as you can tell by expanding the texting while driving ban to also banning internet access especially to social networks is a great thing. It'll make people stay on their toes and either way it's just either they're going to stop or their not point blank period. But adding internet access i.e. social networks would make more people stop because they can tell the law and government isn't playing anymore about all the deaths and car accidents happening because of electronic devices. Also the government is doing a good job spreading the word about all the things that can be caused by texting, talking on the phone, and all those internet access. Basically driving and using any kind of electronic devices so more people see the commercials and don't want that happening to them or their children/family so they will spread the word to stop the use of internet access and use of electronic devices. To make the road a safer place for everyone, but they government can't make people in the car stop talking to each other that's not breaking a law that's freedom of speech.

Driving is one of the most dangerous things in this world.

Well.... this sentence can make others terrified of driving :D ... Better put it a bit differently;
Driving, if not performed with extreme care, can be a very dangerous activity.
A moving vehicle and all the detractions makesmake some people very nervous about gettingsitting behind a wheel[/quote]

TheirsThere are other things that the phone does that aren't banned yet.

... wrong grammar !
There are some other phone applications that are not yet banned.

So I think that the city of Austin should expand the recent ordinance banning texting in moving vehicles on to internet access also.

Therefore I am of the opinion that the city of Austin should extend the recent ordinance to accommodate such applications like texting, accessing internet etc. that can lead to dangerous consequences if allowed while driving.

Texting, talking on the phone and internet access all gohand and hand.

... why do you say they go hand in hand? I guess what you wanted to mean is that they all can cause the same dangerous results. Hand in hand is not the appropriate usage to mean that.

While driving, texting and the Internet access can be as dangerous as talking on the phone.
