People believe that they should be able to keep all the money they earn and should not pay tax to the state. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is widely accepted that all citizens have the duty of paying tax to the authorities. However, some people are of the idea that they should be exempted from taxes and earn the right to all their money. Personally I think paying tax is obligatory to every individual.

Basically, the idea of a tax-free country has drawn the interest of few people. First of all, citizens think keeping the money they earned helps improve their life conditions. In other words, the money exempted from tax is useful for upgrading one's house, buying new clothes for kids or having more food for the meals. Another reason is that they do not believe that the tax is spent on appropriate reasons. As an example, the American went string back and asked the money back when the government spent a great deal of the budget on the Iraq war. Hence, keeping the money comes as a safe choice for many people.

On the other hand, others agree that it is everyone's responsibility to pay tax. This is because tax enable the government to process plans and policies that help develop the country. To illustrate, the budgets of national army and governmental system come from tax and these public services are provided to the people. Moreover, paying tax raises the awareness of one's responsibility for the nation. They will be proud if they realize that they are valuable citizens who contribute to the country's development. Finally, tax is considered as a governmental control of the nation's economy. To paraphrase, it helps prevent illegal business links between parties and set the standards for all transactions.

On the whole, I hold the idea that all people are responsible for paying tax to the authorities. To meet with the contrast opinions, the government needs more instructive guides and appropriate policies of the spending that comes from tax. In the mean time, people should aware the merits of a country's contributor.

overall, I suggest you to show the differences of each paragraph, so the readers will be more interesting to read your essay

However, some people are of the idea that they should be exempted from taxes and earn the right to all their money.

I couldn't understand what do you mean in this sentence

On the other hand, others agree that it is everyone's responsibility to pay tax.

I suggest you to write 'on the other hand, others agree that everyone has responsibility to pay tax'

This is because tax enable the government to process plans and policies that help develop the country

which one do you want to use as a verb?

thanks for your feedback, fikri
However, some people are of the idea that they should be exempted from taxes and earn the right to all their money .
well i guess that "and earn the right to all their money[" is not necessary, isn't it?
This is because tax enable the government to process plans and policies that help develop the country
i think that it it ok when the verb "help" is followed by another verb. Is it grammatically right?

yea,,that's right

for the verb which is followed by another verb, it would be double verb
if you want to write help and followed by help, i suggest you to use to-infinitive
(help to develop)

Personally I think paying tax is obligatory to every individual.

I personally believe that every individual is obliged to pay taxes to the government.
Anyways, good introduction!

Basically, the idea of a tax-free country has drawn the interest of few people.

I like if you didn't have this sentence. The next sentence is a good one to start with your body para.

First of all, citizens think keeping the money they earned helps improve their life conditions.

First of all, people wish to retain their hard earned money with them in hope of enhancing their living standard.

Basically, the idea of a tax-free country has drawn the interest of few people. First of all, citizens think keeping the money they earned helps improve their life conditions. You have too many reasons in this para. It is good if you limit one reason per body para.

Hi...,

To me, the second paragraph is well developed, but lacking in the third paragraph. You should make it clear, as to answer the question

what extent do you agree

Then, I have some points to share... Here are:

others agree that it is everyone's responsibility to pay tax

others agree that tax is levied from everyone

... the budgets of national army and governmental system come from tax and these public services are provided to the people.

... the total levied taxes are used as budgeting of state apparatus and allocated to public services

... paying tax raises the awareness of one's responsibility for the nation

... imposing the precise amount of the tax liability will place responsibility for the citizens

they arevaluable citizens

they are upstanding citizens

Thanks.

The best way to learn what you need above is to read best sample answers of IELTS.
