IELTS WRITING TASK 1 - MAP OF CENTRAL LIBRARY 20 YEARS AGO AND TODAY

The map illustrates how the arrangement of Central Library changed after 2 decades.

Overall, most of the library have been repurposed to provide more services, including modern technology, refreshments and events.

On the left-hand side, the room in the top corner consisting of CDs, videos and computer games was converted to hold storytelling events. This room was expanded to put two sofas and there are also children's fiction books. The middle area once was adult fiction books has been changed to all reference books. A computer room is located at the bottom corner, replacing the old reading room.

The top corner room on the right side was converted from children's books to lecture room. The enquiry desk including tickets or book returns was demolished and a café is built on this right bottom area. The middle space only had adult non-fiction books but now having fiction books, adding an information desk and three self-serviec machines. Tables and chairs in the centre right in front of the entrance were all removed.

The summary overview should have at least 2 sentences in it. The image identification is lacking. You are indicating only one image presented when there are actually 2 images provided for the comparison. There should be individual starter descriptions for each of the images provided.

When describing the image content, provide clarity at the start of the paragraph. Identify which image you will be discussing first and then describe it. Do the same for the 2nd image. This will help the reader separate the information you are providing in his mind. Right now, there is no differentiation between images, making it more difficult to understand and follow the information you have provided.

Good work on providing the minimum of 3 sentences per paragraph. That shows that you truly analyzed the images before reporting on it.
