The bar chart indicates how many men and women retired in different ages between 2004 and 2008 in seven countries. Overall, the proportions of retirement age of women and men had the similar trends; increasing and then decreasing. Both average ages of them had the largest total in Sweden in both years.
For men, Sweden had the highest average retirement age for both men and women in both years. ( about 63% and 65% in 2004 and 2008); meanwhile, this figure was the smallest one ( 58% in these two years). The data in Netherlands and the UK were bigger than ones in Germany, Denmark, France, nearly 4%. For women, the average retired women also was biggest in Sweden( with 62 and 64% in 2004 and 2008). Similarly with men, this figure was also nearly 56% and 58%, with the lowest data.
As shown, from 2004 to 2008, the proportion in retirement age of men rose in Germany, in Denmark, France, Netherlands, Sweden and the UK, (up to 1% than before). The figure in Italy was the same( 58%) in both years. Additionally, the percentage in women also increased about 1.5% in these selected countries; however, the data in Italy was difference in men as it went down approximately 1%
