As human beings we feel a sense of responsibilty for the people around us. We can demonstrate this responsibilty with different types of support: emotional, financial, legal, etc. We cannot support everyone all the time, so the question is: Basked on the works we have read..

-Farenheit 451
-Can't Get There From Here
-Inherit the Wind
-Night
"Harrison Bergeron"
A Kind of Murder"
"Sucker"

to what extent are we, as individuals and/or as a community responsible for other groups of people? Where does that responsibility start and where does it end? How much is too little? How much is too much? Chooke examples from 3 of the works we have read to support your thesis.

You don't need to compare to the books/stories if you haven't read them just tell me what you think and make it sound smart. [/U]

Through these stories, authors indirectly make observations about whether or not we are "our brothers' keepers," So as you read them, collect all the good stuff! Type a sentence for each time an author makes a subtle statement about what is right and wrong with regard to being responsible for others...

When you have that list, write up the essay! You will see that a central theme emerges based on your collection, so that will be your theme. Write something brilliant and inspired! :)
