Interpersonal skills are all the behaviors and feelings that exist within all of us that influence our interactions with others. These skills are learned from watching our parents, the television and our peers. The success of interpersonal communication depends on the behaviors the participant's exhibit. Relationships, both personal and professional are enhanced by positive behaviors and attitude. To better understand communication, a person must acknowledge many different aspects, including speech body language and context. You can do these things to better your interpersonal communication skills. Be a people watcher, make a point of meeting one new person every month or so. You can have a party and invite one or two people you do not know very well. Volunteer at a local hospital or nursing home. And the last suggestion would be to strike up conversations with people when you are standing in line at a store.
Intrapersonal intelligence helps a person to be insightful and to be able to access your innermost thoughts and feelings. You have the strong ability to learn from things that you have learned in the past. Another way to explain it would be, it is the act of having an internal dialogue with yourself or in other words talking to your self. It is also the group of various processing activities within the brain that allows for self communication. There are many ways to help improve or develop this intelligence, such as, record your thoughts and feelings in a daily journal or just daydream. Take two or three minutes a day to sit in a comfortable position and take some slow deep breaths. You can read a book or take a half-hour walk outdoors. Engage in activities that make you feel confident about yourself, and last think about your goals and your hopes for the future.
